Sea Wave Cruise Line (Malaysia) Sea Wave Cruise Liner (Malaysia) Employment scam, Pahang, Internet |

Seawave seem to be operating the standard employment contact scam. They have a reasonable looking website at www.swsjob.net, and even respond to an initial application with more questions. However, it's when the appointment letter arrives that things look a bit strange. Firstly, you are told to contact an immigration lawyer, and you will have to foot the bill for the Malaysian work permit. Only then will the plane ticket be sent to you. You are also given a ridiculously short period of time - in my case 2 weeks - to pack up your life, in preparation for a 2-year contract abroad. It's also what they don't say in the appointment letter that's illuminating: After the "training camp" in Malaysia, you're supposed to go and work in Canada, yet there's no mention of any Canadian work permits, or visa requirements. There's vague references to accommodation is provided, but no mention of uniforms, or what should be taken along. Any queries are met with a deafening silence, and I'm sure I won't hear from them again. All they want is your money (some $665) to process your "working permit" and that's the last you'll hear of them. |

I guess they have a good way of doing this. I have received the same email passing weeks but nothing have been mention regard the payment.
I have just done the official interview via email and couldn't understand the whole procedure and decided to go online to check the main cruise ship website and its sad now am coming through all this info.
I am grateful these still good people to share and help other that are really desperate to get jobs abroad.
I hate to think this way but surely this has something to do with Nigerians, with my experience in past I can diffidently assume its them.
Many thanks for this information

I just received the "Appointment Letter" from Sea Wave Cruise Lines.. Thought it was a bit strange that they have already accepted me and drawn up this letter of employment without so much as a Skype interview.
Ive been looking for work on teh ships for the past 6 months and if theres one thing Ive come to learn its that getting work on teh ships is NOT an easy or quick process.
This has definitely got to be a scam!!
So sad. We get our hopes up that just for a moment, we believe our dreams have come true, just to have them shattered and torn apart.
Karma better do a good job with these people!!! |
