Run Local Locksmith Scam Internet |
13th of Dec, 2011 by User761747 |
I own a restaurant and one night I had a lock fall apart and had to get the door secured before we closed. I did a search for a local locksmith and found Run Local Locksmith. I called and they had someone come out to fix the door. I was not at the restaurant at the time but my manager would handle the problem. The locksmith showed up, did an inspection and charged me $30. Trip and inspection charge. He had to go find a lock to replace the bad lock in the door. 15 min later I get a call from the locksmith. He quoted me a price of $300 to replace the lock. I thought the entire conversation was very strange. He was not very professional. He said that he wasn't sure that he would get it done that night because he was 28 miles away on another job. I was very puzzled on why he would start another job before finishing his work at my restaurant. And how did he get 28 miles away in 15 min. I told him that I wasn't very happy about the charge but that I needed the door secured before it got too late. I felt he had me against the wall. I told him to do the job. Then I find out he appeared 15 min later, again from 28 miles away? After the job he went to my manager for payment. He asked for a cash payment. My manager told him that she would rather pay by check because their wasn't much money in the register and it would leave her short. He said " I have already given you a discount, I would like you to find the cash". I called the company that night and complained. I was told it was not their policy to only pay cash and that they excepted company checks. I also complained about the charge. I was told that I would get a call from a supervisor the next day. Meanwhile I went to the restaurant to inspect the job. I have half a lock that I can only lock from the outside. I have a hold, no lock on the inside of the door. I have to run around the building and lock the door from the outside. The lock is pertruding out from the door 1/4" on both sides. I didn't recieve any call back the next day. On the 3rd day I called the company again, explained the situation. I was on hold for 8 minutes. Then the phone began to ring and after 3 minutes of ringing I hung up and called back. I was fuming at this point. After a much shorter hold someone came on the line and promised me that he would send someone out to fix the door. I would of been at least semi-satisfied with that. But no one showed up again ! I don't know what to do at this point but to eat the $330 and call another locksmith. |
