| Ross is one of the worst companies to work for on the planet. You would think that with all the talk about the labor abuses and sweat shops around the world American businesses would be a little more careful about their business practices and abuses. With all their talk about about creating a happy and and calm working enviorment for all their employees, they are really not. Staff is continuously shorted during peek hours of the day and the ones working are made to double their efforts, creating a harsh and stressful working enviornment. Lower level supervisors are put under the gun when trying to manage an operation with less personnel then is required and higher level supervisors have an army to assist them when less personnel is needed. It is amazing that in this day and age their could still exist slavery in America. Employees are forced to work under the most dreadful conditions. We are not giving adiquate time off to take care of our personel lives or family obligations. Full time employees are their property and treated no better than endentured servants. Requesting time off to take care of ones self and family needs are made very difficult and the company even goes to the extremes of threatening to remove you from your position if you disagree or complain. They are heartless and cruel to the point of watching you die at your station and practically pushing you to the side and putting someone else in your place before your body gets cold. This was my story. I was a supervisor for this store when I suffered a near fatal heart attack at work. I had made them aware that I had been suffering chest pains for the last month and had even advised them that my doctor had recommended that I be checked out. I couldn't take the time off because I had already been threatend that if I take any time off I could very well face termination. I tried my best to stay at work because I could ill afford to lose my job. One fateful day I went to work with chest pains and while at work I called my physcian. The physician said I should go immediately to the ER. When I advised my supervisor about this her response was for me to wait ten minutes while she conducted an employement review. It took the doctor's office to get her to order an abulance for me. I had emergency surgery that next morning. Since then I was treated with callus disrespected and now I have not been able to get any assistence with benefits of any kind. They wouldn't accept my doctor's declarations as to my physical condition and have since terminated my employment. I can find no one within or outside the company who is interested or even willing to help. I urge anyone who is apposed to blantant abuses by any individuals or enteties to put an end to these atrocities perpitrated by this store.
