richard grant claiming you are being |

This is unusual and 99% sure a scam, i have googled it and not found anything like it, but here it goes. I have been getting calls the last month or 2 from numerous people after i used a website to find a payday loan when it was a "lender" finder website...misleading by the way. But anyways about a month ago i got a call about being a approved for a huge loan, low interest, DUH it was a scam, i brushed it off as i have bad credit and had to pay $1000 for a loan, im not dumb, googled it and its common.... But this last week something happened unusual. Ive gotten calls from one single number, and ignored it assuming it was another telemarketer. They left a message, were middle eastern or indian of decent? anyways accent of that sort that was hard to understand anything they said, and i ignored as usual. Well i started a new job about a month ago, and this guy someway some how got my jobs number asking for me! i was furious, and astounded as no bill collector has ever called my previous job i had for over 4 years, and ive filled out no paperwork under this job. Well this same guy called me this morning, his name is "richard grant" like i said i can hardly understand anything he says....but he said "The last four of your social is ****, You are being sued, i need your attorney's number" confused i obviously said "sued? for what? by who? i dont have an attorney??!!" well i demanded asking what i was being "sued" for and this guy simply couldnt give me answers. he then transfered me to his superviser, which it got weird because i wasn't on regular hold where you hear music or a beep, it was like i was on mute, then a gentlemen, also with a thick accent of the same sort, started to talk and with my cell phone service, the call dropped on accident. I obviously went into panic mode, being ive never been sued for anything, and tried to call it back. The number was "invalid" when i did so. I googled this for answers and came up nothing except mortage scams because it sames suspicious to me. Then thru yahoo answers it is a scam...used obviously to obtain your entire social security number, or at some point ask for a certain dollar amount to "settle" this mysterious matter. I never got that far into it, and i havent yet seen anything similiar online. I hope this is helpful to you all!! Im furious and quite frankly shocked and curious how someone obtained the last four of my social and my works telephone number when i dont even know it yet myself...i hope with the info i provided this brings this guy to light, i never got much more info and the number doesnt work when i call back but its obviously isn't a debt collection or law firm or whatever the hell they were.....if anyone has had anything similar or can help me find out how they got and how to prevent my personal info from being released to these a holes please let me know!!! |
