I stored my personal belongings at a public storage company at 10100 Lacienaga Blvd. My belongings has been there since February 2010. The last time I accessed my storage space was July 2010. I went to retrieve my poperty yesterday August 06, 2011 & to my suprise when we started moving my property from the storage space my 55inch plasma television is not there! The lock was still intact, not tampered with or anything. Everyone stood looking in amazement at how a 55inch plasma television could actually disappear into thin air? My son and my brother begin looking around the facility and noticed that the drywall leading to the adjoining storage space was farely new and did not have the same wear as the other side. I went to the office to let the employees know that my television was missing, with no compassion or anything the employees says well when is the last time you accessed your unit Mrs. Martin? I told her I don' know sometime last year. She nonchalantly says, well I don't know but you would have to call the police department and file a report. I asked her for the phone number to the police station and she claims that she does not know the phone number. There were three other employess there and no one seemed concerned or suprise about the situation. One guy sat there picking at his fingernails not once looking up to see what all the fuss was about. So I contacted Lennox police department to file my report & they came out to take the report but I don't think they believed my statement because one officer told me that when they received the call they were thinking I was 5150, meaning crazy...I am not crazy nor am I a fool! I know that this particular facility has some sort of scam going on where they are stealing their customers personal property. It may be a large organized theft ring. The officers came and looked around took the report talked to the employees on the premises but did not allow me to listen in on what the employees had to say, they gave the police officers the insurance claim form and told him to tell me to contact the insurance group to file a claim. No apologies were offered or concern and to top it off when I told the female employee that I would like to close out the storage space, she seem to have found the whole situation funny. She handed me the paper and I snatched it from the window and she decided at that momet that it would be a nice time to giggle. You could not understand my outrage with this facility! I have items that I need to store right this moment but you can bet your bottom dollar that it will not be with any public storage company!! This facility and any other facilities that are involved in these scams needs to be exposed and the employees prosecuted to the full extent of the law!!! |

Omg I am so sad, this same exact thing happened to me, I am sick to my stomach reading your story, I really feel for you and completely understand how you are feeling, angry, hurt, sad, violated being the big one, it's unbelievable, I've been with this storage since before 2009, even brought them new costumer business and they because I didn't have insurance they won't even look into it, a lot of my things were missing/stolen from my storage unit, including 2 flat screen tv's. And no it was not and isn't possible that someone or anyone I know had access to or accessed my storage unit with my keys. |
