I have been using PSA for a few years and over time have noticed the service deteriorate and noticed they have been misadvertising delivery times. They make you pay more money for faster turnaround but do not meet those turnaround dates and do not compinsate you for it. I sent some cards in on Dec 28 2012 and by Jan 11 they did not indicate that they had even recieved it. After numerous calls I luckily had sent package registered and insured so knew it had been sitting there over a week. It was not until Jan 25th that they finally graded them that day. Not quite the 10 day turnaround I paid for. They claimed they were just too busy and said I should have written on the outside of the box my turnaround time. At very minimum they should have scanned the order in so at least I knew they had recieved it I have also noticed a number of errors in their grading. I have opened boxes of packs and pulled duplicates out of the same box (different packs) and sent them in different orders to be graded and have had some come back as no grade saying evidence of trimming while the other got a grade of 8. I have tried the same experiments with other cards and have found them to say one card was not the correct size. Yes these are cards from the 1960s I am not sure how accurate the cutters were back then but the point being grade the card. That is what I paid for. Finally I opened a box of 86 Fleer and 2 packs had a Jordan Rookie. I sent one in and got a grade of 8 even though the card was mint 10. I sent the other in months later and they said it was N4 not authentic. They gave no reason for coming up with that incorrect grade. They did take my money and I did pay 28.55 in shipping for that card along with 10 other. No refund on any of that either. I called them and was treated very poorly by customer service and asked to speak with the customer service supervisor Laura R. she made all kinds of excuses and was very defensive. Interestingly she did not lose any out of pocket money and has not invested in a lot of cards that were graded by PSA. I guess I am starting to learn they are obviously understaffed and making HUGE mistakes in their grading and consistency. Interesting point here is I have sent cards PSA claimed were tampered with to Beckett Graders and the cards came back with quick turnaround as advertised and good grades. Very frustrating when you pull a card out of a pack, immediately send it to be graded and are then told it is improper size, has been trimmed or is a fake. To add insult to injury you had to pay up front first and do not get your money back and you wait 3 times as long as promissed. Go with a higher quality grader is my suggestion. |
