Phoenix business sales |
Misleading, dishonest, deceitful chancers |

I was phoned by their people telling me they had cash buyers for restaurants like mine, i met with one of Phoenixs sales team and he assured me He could sell my business without it costing me a penny until contracts were exchanged. I wasn't really interested in selling but after a little thought I confirmed with the office it wouldn't cost me a penny until the business was sold I agreed to see the sales rep again to get the business valued. He came out and suggested I ask £66000 for it as this would then include the £6000 they charge for the selling fee, he assured me they would have no trouble selling it and the price was more than I expected. He then asked for a deposit off £600 as a marketing fee. I didnt think I needed any money (as it was ment to be free until sold) so said I would forward it, I was also told this was refundable after 26 weeks if the business hadn't sold. I was given the contract which I signed even though I told the rep I was unable to read as I had no glasses,
I signed that contract on trust of the details he explained, it wouldn't cost me anything untill sold, they had cash buyers, and even the deposit was refundable after 26 weeks if the property had not been sold. I thought about it overnight and rang him the next day to cancell it as I was not happy about paying the deposit . The upshot of this is now they want £3000 cancellation fee and are taking me to court. To anybody thinking of using them, DON'T. Read all the bad press they have on this and other sites I wish I had. |

They have just tried this with me as well. They sent me an invoice for £3000-00 when I cancelled after six months. This is a scam, do not pay them. Any court will find in your favour if it goes that far. Check other victims on "ripoff report" website and report Phoenix to the Office of fair trading. Date 15-6-2012. |
