OMG how could I have been so stupid. We had several break-ins at our home and thought it was time to get a Wisconsin CCW permit to own and maybe carry a gun. I checked the NRA website and found this instructor in our area that they said was certified to give basic gun lessons. I went to his website and registered and paid him $199 for my wife and I to take a basic introduction to gun safety class. I received confirmation receipt that he received payment and I was registered for his next class which was to start in a couple weeks. I was surfing the web and thought I'd read a bit more on this guys website about the upcoming class and found this other website that said "Truth About Personal Protection Specialties" and thought wow, I wonder what that is all about. I went to that website and WOW I was shocked at want this website had to say about Personal Protection Specialties. I figured maybe it was some person angry for one reason or another but I never expected to see the details this website has dug up about the owner of Personal Protection Specialties. After reading and doing some of my own digging I found out the owner was definitely this same guy Michael A Walker that has scammed so many people before. How he got registered with the NRA is anyone's guess. He's been scamming people for more than 15 years online and this is his latest business, Personal Protection Specailties at http://www.personalprotectionspecialties.com. I'm just kicking myself for not researching FIRST before giving this con-man my Credit Card information. After reading this Truth About Personal Protection Specialties website I also verified the payment page isn't secure and is against all Credit Card rules. OMG, how could I be so stupid. Who knows who has my credit card information now! I wanted a refund quick before I canceled this credit card because who knows who has my CC information now. I contacted Michael Walker at his email address and was told NO REFUNDS. He had to purchase some class materials for our registration and can't return them. I said you must be kidding! You're charging me $200 for a couple of NRA pamplets? He said repeatedly that he wasn't giving me a refund no matter what, couldn't use my two pamplets for other students and couldn't cancel my class registration. So he thinks I'm paying $200 for a class I'm not even attending and canceled 10 days before the class was to occur. Now he's sending me threatening letters saying if I dispute the charge he's going to sue me and put a judgment on my Credit Bureaus. I did some more research on this guy with the information I found on the other website and sure enough I can't see that he even has a registered business at all in Wisconsin. After thinking about this for a week, I'm contacting my Credit Card and disputing the charges. This guy is trying to scam me like he's done to so many others and I don't want to be another one of his victims. After I found his other business names I searched for them on here and he has more than 30 complaints for his other business names. I'm sure this one will end up the same pretty soon. |
