OnSale.com PC Mall, Mac Mall Processed 100,000 orders for product, when only had 10,000 in stock Internet |

On August 21, 2011 this company made available a link to a discounted HP Touchpad tablet PC. Even though they only had 10,000 units in stock, they allowed 100,000 orders to be processed. Once processed, authorization holds were placed on the credit cards used to order. Even though it was immediately clear that they would be unable to fulfill all the orders, this company waited until 4 days later before cancelling the transactions. During the limbo time, there were only a handful of communications made through unofficial channels that contained conflicting and repeated vague information, with promises that the issue would be resolved within 24 hours, then 48 hours, then "shortly" when in reality it took 4 days. The company has also not responded to allegations made that they gave preference to those people who paid extra expedited shipping, rather than their stated "first come, first served" process, despite evidence provided. I would like an offer of appeasement or public apology for time wasted and a full, detailed explanation of what that led to such an outlandish circumstance and unprofessional lack of response. |

Everything stated above is absolutely true from my experience.
I placed an order for the HP Touchpad (32 GB) with "onsale" (which is affilitiated with PC Mall) on amazon.com on Saturday morning. The cost of the device, tax and shipping were immediately charged to my credit card and the order was confirmed by Amazon. That order had been valid until late this afternoon (Wednesday).
Because of the delays in shipping, I followed up with "onsale" through amazon to confirm shipment, they ignored my contact. To date, I have still not received any return communications from them.
I called amazon.com later this afternoon, and finally straightened everything out with them. Amazon confirmed that "onsale" had oversold orders for the HP Touchpad. Because I had not received contact from "onsale", Amazon reversed the charges to my credit card. The order was cancelled.
Because my Amazon order was eventually canceled by PC Mall, I have not yet been able to leave any feedback on Amazon about this experience with PC Mall. That is why I am posting here.
My family and I were mislead by the PC Mall store front and its affiliate on Amazon in this transaction. I will NOT be buying from them in the future. |

If you are uncomfortable with having your credit card charged for days on a product that you will never receive, I suggest buying from another source than the PC Mall / MacMall / onsale.com family. |
