I got a certificate for a free 2 night hotel stay for going to a presentation on cookware. I was told I had to send in $100 (USD - bank draft) to book it, but that would be refunded to me once it was booked. Once I did that, I didn't hear from anyone. After a series of phone calls, I finally got someone. They told me I had to send an additional $38 for taxes (USD - bank draft). I did that. Waited, no calls or emails. After calling again, I was told a travel agent was assigned to me and would call me in 10 days. 10 days, no calls. I call back. Finally get the girls contact info. After calls and emails galore, she says she will email a list of days available. I told her anytime in September. She finally emails me back and tells me there are no days available then, but for only $66 extra (in addition to the $138 I already sent) I could book a fleabag motel I could book online for half that. Wow. I requested a refund and am told they will send it but who knows. They are so sketchy. If I don't receive it in the time they say, I will open a claim with the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS! If you want to book a trip that badly, book it yourself. Even if this were free (which it isn't) it is NOT worth the headache. BEWARE!! |

I am a participant in Star Rebates a subsidiary of Odenza's gas rebate program. My voucher # is SFUBXYD67632. I paid them $13.95 to join their program and have saved the necessary recipts every month to receive my $20 gift card rebate. The owner Sodi Hundal appears to be involved in a ponzi scheme. He sells these rebate vouchers to retailers and charities to use as marketing tools and fundraisers and then collects the $12.95 fee from people and doesn't pay the rebate holders. Just do a google search of Odenza Ripoff or Star Rebates Odenza or Odenza Scam and you will see pages and pages of complaints about his practices. There is another guy involved named Darren Single who is also an employee. KIRO TV in Seattle did and expose on his Odenza/Star rebates branch in Seattle WA. Comment: Odenza/Star Rebates operates a Ponzi scheme out of 4664 Lougheed Highway #230, Burnaby BC V5C-5T5. The owner is named Sodi Hundal and the Manager is Darren Single. The Phone number is 866-883-2968. They sell rebate vouchers for gasoline, cruises and groceries to unsuspecting charities and merchants who then sell them as fundraisers or use them as marketing tools to draw in new business. The consumer then must register the voucher and pay a fee. The consumer then must save receipts and send them in for a Visa/MC gift card. Problem is, the company never sends the cards. Odenza/Star rebates keeps the money from the merchant and the registration fees from the customers. If you complain often enough, they may send you one or two cards, then they stop sending them again. If this does not define ponzi scheme, I don't know what does?
The authorities should also be alerted...
Here is a link about Odenza marketing/star rebates who are based in Burnaby BC but have "shell companies" in the US. This appears to be a Ponzi scheme. Just Google "Odenza, Star Rebates, Ripoff, scheme" and you will see what I mean.
They also operate out of San Diego Ca and Seattle WA
here is a link to a story about this company out of Seattle:
www.kirotv.com/money/28113836.detail.html
if the link doesn't work go to KIRO-TV in seattle and put Star Rebates in the search box...these companies are pure ponzi scheme...
They also ingore inquiries from the BBB in both Canada and the USA...hence the F Rating |
