Nationwide Title Transfer Title and Escrow Services Timeshare sale & purchase scam Clearwater, Florida |
3rd of Jan, 2012 by User155633 |
I have recently been contacted by a female buyer who tells me she and her hustanc are wanting to purchase my timeshares. Since I had been advertising the sale, I was not taken aback. She had Nationwide Title Transfer, Clearwater, Florida contact me with the details of a contract. I have spoken to two representatives there. They have a lovely web site and seemed real. They faxed me the purchase agreement and they are awaiting my sending them a deposit of $528.00. I can find no listing of this company at the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau nor anything under the Florida business licenses. No listings anywhere. Although I was hoping this was a real buyer, I now suspect that it is a well organized scam aimed at seniors wanting to sell their properties. Thanks to this site, I am not sending a check and refuse to be a "pigeon" again. Been there, done that. |

This person was contacted by one of our represenitives. She was informed there was a deposit to insure there are no leans and past due fees, in addition to make sure she did not back out of the sale and title process. When She recived the documents she got very upset. since the day of she has contaced us by email and telephone on a daily basis. out of the 2, 192 satisfied customers we had not one had an issue. This person is not a client of ours. This website does not verify any of the information that is on it. If this type of violations continue THE COMPANY WILL TAKE FURTHER ACTION! TO MAKE SURE IT DOES NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I WOULD ADVISE FOR THIS COMPLAINT TO BE REMOVED.

We were contacted by a female on Friday, January 6, 2012, saying she was interested in buying our timeshare. Like the complaint from Jan. 3rd, we had previously listed our timeshare for sale so thought it was legitimate. When we called the title company on Saturday morning that she referred us to, Nationwide Title Transfer, John seemed unprofessional and we sensed it was a scam. The questions we asked were avoided and John's emphasis was only on us sending $400 up front. The company's website gives an address of 611 S Fort Harrison Ave., Unit 105, Clearwater, FL. We found an Apt. 30 at that address and some other businesses (UPS, Locksmith), but no title company. John was supposed to fax us the interested party's "offer" which never happened. Since we have caller ID, we called the interested party back & left a message for her to call us. She did not call back. |

We received a similar inquiry--a man saying he is Tom McGovern and that he and his wife were looking for a timeshare at Heavenly Valley. He said he had done this once before--bought a timeshare this way--through Nationwide Title. I received a couple of calls from two different people claiming to be from Nationwide Title--they left messages for me to call back, and I did. Spoke to one who "couldn't find my paperwork" and otherwise exchanged voice mail messages. Decided not to pursue this as it doesn't feel authentic. Called "Tom McGovern"--no response thus far. |

We just got the same... A call from an "interested buyer" and then the call from Nationwide Title (we think it was John) He sent us the Contract of Sale and Purchase... asking for $500. I have sold other real estate and have never had to put up money as a seller. |
