My recent dealings with infuzy are over the past 6 months. I reached out to them from a facebook ad. As a training company, I use the infusionsoft CRM and find it very cumbersome, so I contacted them initially to see about them helping me streamline and make my infusionsoft CRM work better. I spoke with Nicholas Grant, who said he was a business partner of Grant James, but did not claim to be an owner of the company. In discussing with them what they could do, I became excited that they would be able to do far more than just work on my infusionsoft software. After our discussions, this was the proposal they sent: (PLEASE NOTE: I've blocked out my company info to respect the process of RipOff Report which states I am not to include my name or contact info, but I have no problem whatsoever in people knowing who I am. If you are in the speaking business, then by reading this, you'll probably have a pretty good idea of who I am anyway.) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Nicholas Grant ([email protected]) To: XXXXXXXXXXXX Cc: 'Grant James' <[email protected]>,'Sterling Garns' <[email protected]>,'Casey Page' <[email protected]> Received: Wednesday, August 25, 2010 9:07 AM Subject: Infuzy Proposal for XXXXXXXXX Once again thank you for your time today. I have a clearer understanding as to the direction you are looking to go, and I strongly feel we have the resources to help get you there. I just spoke with my partner Grant James and we at Infuzy, Inc. are very excited at the opportunity of working together. I have copied my colleagues on this email and quickly wanted to introduce them to you. They are Grant James, Sterling Garns, & Casey Page; I will expound on their expertise and roles later in this email. Based on your needs, here is what we can provide for you and how I see us working together. Infusionsoft Support We will have one of our highly qualified Infuzy consultants assigned to your account. His name is Sterling Garns, and is an expert in Infusionsoft. At one point he worked for Infusionsoft, and has since joined our team to provide optimal Infusionsoft support for our clients as needed. He will be responsible for making sure that all of your Infusionsoft systems work seamlessly. He will ensure that products are delivered to paying customers and when necessary correct and improve those processes. He will be an extension of [XXXXXXXXX] and will communicate directly with your clients as needed. Any and all Infusionsoft inquiries will be handled through and by him. Traffic Geyser Grant James, my partner and founder of Infuzy, is an expert when it comes to making systems work. Grant will guarantee that your investment in Traffic Geyser will pay off for you in the end. Grant will take the reins and help you accomplish your 3 fold mission in Traffic Geyser, which is to drive traffic to 3 individual squeeze/landing pages for [CURRENT ONLINE PRODUCT], Keynote speaking training, and the Legacy Speaking Program. Where necessary, Grant will help in the development of those squeeze pages. Anything pertaining to Traffic Geyser, Grant will give you his full support and attention. Marketing Through a variety of marketing strategies including Facebook Advertising, Google AdWords, SEO, Media Buys, and Domain Domination, Grant will drive traffic to your site and create a powerful presence for you online. Grant is known for finding and driving the right kind of converting traffic to ones sites and products. You mentioned on our call that one product in particular, [COMPANY WEBSITE], converts but the problem is getting traffic to that site. Grant has the experience and expertise to accomplish this. You also mentioned that for certain keywords, such as speaker training, professional speaker training, etc., you would like to show up #1 in Google’s organic search results. We have one of the best SEO teams on the market. Our model is unique in that it is a Pay-As-You-Rank model, meaning we give you a quote for what it would cost to rank you at #1 and you don’t pay us anything until we get you there. Grant will create strategic marketing strategies catered to each product. Web Development & Support As needed, Infuzy will offer web development and maintenance. Casey Page is our lead developer/programmer and will assist when necessary. Casey created a custom tracking tool specific to Infusionsoft. It is the one and only Google Keyword Tracking Tool! Every time a potential customer fills out a web form, you will now know how that person found you. As we create different marketing campaigns and use different strategies to drive traffic, this tool will help us know where our traffic is coming from, which keywords are converting, and which referring sites are giving us the most traffic. This is a very powerful tool, one that the majority of our clients use to help them know their audience better. This is a very diverse project, yet we have a very qualified and diverse team that can meet all of these needs. We are very good at what we do. Normally our consulting fee is $1,500, however, given the resources it will require to fulfill these needs, our consulting fee for this project is $2,000. This gets Sterling Garns to handle all of your Infusionsoft needs, Grant James to spearhead your marketing, and Casey Page to head up your web development and maintenance. Through Infuzy, we are offering you a one-stop shop. Best, Nicholas Grant ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Needless to say, I was eager to get started. I paid the $2000 and scheduled my call with Grant. In speaking with him, he immediately discouraged me from using TrafficGeyser, the system that Nicholas said he was the expert in, and instead he recommended I use a program called Tube Mogul, which supposedly does the same thing, but at no cost to me. Unfortunately, he never delivered on this promise at all. He also encouraged me to create a membership website instead of many of the other marketing ideas mentioned above, to which I agreed, there was an additional cost to this design and I became weary. To make a very long story short, nearly every service that they promised me above for the $2000 had an additional charge to it. This was never stated in the quote (with the exception of pay-per-SEO). I will say that Grant refunded me $600 after the initial charge because he was taking the contract in a different direction which he felt made the costs less. While I didn't require this, I was appreciative. During our call, he mentioned that he would like to receive some training in professional speaking which is my expertise. We talked about my flagship program which was $20,000 in tuition and I proposed the idea of letting him attend the course at no charge in exchange for his services, to which he agreed. Later, he opted out of attending the course personally, and decided to send Nicholas Grant. A move that I discouraged based on his outcomes for his company. Grant however, still wanted to fly out for the program to meet with and network with the other participants in expectation of landing some of them as clients. I invited Grant to every one of our external social outings, to which he only accepted 1 on the last day of the event. He was reclusive and did nothing to foster the relationships with the other participants, instead, expecting Nicholas to do that... unfortunately, he never let Nicholas attend any of the social outings either. In fact, during the entire 2 week course, Nicholas had to miss valuable class time to attend to Grants needs. So much so that at the end when nominating the MVP for the team that Nicholas was on, he was nominated as a joke, and won. In addition to the introductions to my customers, I also introduced him to key players in the Branding, Product Distribution, and Credit Card Services industries. All of these people would be exceptional candidates for his business, but in speaking with all of them, Grant has not reached out once to foster the relationships. During the course, I approached Grant with the possibility of designing all of the membership websites for my seminar attendees. We agreed that $700 per person would be fair (only later to discover on his website he advertises this exact service for only $497 (The InfusionsoftWP Done For You Set UP Package) Infuzy was very slow to implement these services, down right neglectful as you will read in their email that they sent all of my participants... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Nicholas Grant ([email protected]) To: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX [all seminar attendees and myself, and Grant James] Received: Thursday, January 13, 2011 8:27 PM Subject: Websites Friends, First off, I miss you all! I hope you all had a great New Year. I know many of you are probably not at all surprised that I have not yet been able to make a meeting, and just so you know, I haven’t because I feel obligated to live up to my reputation and what won me MVP. Please note, I have listened to every call and I am complying the best I can with all of the great info XXXXXX is providing. Great stuff. I know this email is long overdue but after some internal “house cleaning” I am ready to knock these sites out for you guys – if you are still in need. I have a close personal friend of mine, who recently broke off to form his own company within the Infusionsoft community - Richard Broadhead, who will be handling your websites. Richard owns InfusionPress and specializes in making WordPress websites. I had a long conversation with him this evening and we discussed the project at hand and the importance of getting these done in a timely manner. He mentioned that he would be able to have a site completed 2 weeks from today for each of you. The best way to handle this is to email Richard @ [email protected] and set up a time to speak with him. He has GoToMeeeting and is also on Skype. His Skype name is richardtbroadhead. Add him on Skype and set up a time to talk with him. Richard will give you a couple of options for your main website platform and from there you can make simple customizations to it. I will be keeping tabs on all of your sites and play point with Topher to ensure that these get completed within the timeframe provided. Anything within the scope of your current contracts with Topher will be upheld and delivered to you, if you want additional customizations we will be happy to provide you with those, but please note those will affect not only cost but the time in finishing your site out as well. When you meet with Richard please have the following ready: 1. Pictures 2. Bios 3. Domain names (if you have them) 4. Logos 5. Desired Color Schemes 6. 18 min. Videos (If they are ready) 7. Testimonials Regardless if everything listed above is ready or not, we will build the site in such a way that we can add to it later. We will create placeholders, for any missing pieces, for the time being. I have spoken with several of you and we have talked about getting your sites done earlier, PLEASE forgive me. I can make excuses as to why this has been the case – I won’t though, but please take it from me, this – what we are offering now - is better for everyone at hand. If you are still interested in having your sites completed please contact Richard immediately. He has cleared his schedule for the next 2 weeks to ensure that these are his #1 priority. I hope this finds all of you well. Again, I miss you all. Best, Nicholas Grant (MVP) Infuzy, Inc. 214-784-1786 Skype: nicholascgrant ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- They were to design sites for my members that would compliment the Infuzy monthly consulting fees with the idea of landing each of the members as new clients for Infuzy. These sites were never designed, and I received complaints from my customers as to how slow and non-responsive they were. During this whole time, Grant was supposed to be consulting with me for my company and designing a membership site for myself. I rarely had updates, and when I did they were Grant complaining about how long it took him to do something or how expensive it was for him to do it. (By the way, during this process he also auto charged my credit card again for consulting fees. I reminded him of our agreement, he asked me if he could refund me half now and half later because he was 'forking out a lot of money' and needed some time. I agreed, he refunded me $700 immediately and I've never seen the additional $700 refund. All in total, I'm not out that much financially. Last week, after several non-returned phone calls, and no progress on a website which was promised to me months prior I finally got a hold of Grant and made him an offer. The deal was simple. He could stop all website creation for myself, which was an extensive time consumer for him, and he in exchange for the remaining trade value from my program (assuming I actually got value for my $1400 monthly consulting) it would leave an outstanding balance owed to me of $13,000 ($1400 per month for 5 months in which time I received no services whatsoever = $7000 credited toward the $20,000 tuition for the training he sent Grant to). My proposal was for him to have his company design the basic websites for my customers (9 in total) and we would call the account even. I felt that was very generous. $6300 worth of services to wave a $13000 balance of services) During this time, I also at my own expense, flew out to Phoenix to speak at his convention, I waved my speaking fees of $12,500 as a personal favor because I wanted to foster a long and mutually beneficial relationship for our companies. I never complained about this, and I've delivered everything initially agreed upon on my side and much more. He didn't like my solution, but I remained wide open to ideas and very optimistic that we would find a solution that worked best for us. I invited him to be a part of a mentoring call the next day but to meet on the phone an hour prior so I could hear his ideas. He never called me at the agreed time, and did not accept my calls when I called. I checked my email and I had a message from him too long to reprint, but basically saying he didn't feel he owed me anything because we never had a signed contract. All in all, I can argue with him about the contract, I tend to do business on a handshake and that's my fault. I'm not saying Infuzy is a bad company or Grant is a bad person, but I am warning anyone reading this to make sure everything is in writing with him, and you keep a very accurate record of things, because he tends to confuse time lines and commitments. He's out the expenses for sending Nicholas and himself to my seminar. I'm out the expenses for hosting the seminar (It's a high end VIP where just expenses for attendee products exceed over $1500) and flying out to speak at his event, and the charges on my credit card for consulting that never happened. It is what it is. I've taken bigger losses in my business before, but the blatant disregard Grant has for honoring his end of the bargain, and simply walking away because it was too time consuming and we never had a written contract has prompted me to file this complaint. I'M NOT SAYING DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH GRANT AT INFUZY... Despite all of this, I still really like Grant, I think he and Nicholas are great people, in fact, I'm disappointed that we couldn't come to an acceptable solution. I was more than willing to compromise. I'm simply stating that go in with your eyes wide open, and make sure you get signatures for everything because in the end, if it gets inconvenient for him, he will just walk away from his commitments.
