| Please people pay attention to all the clues.. Do Not even consider joining Mateo Academy in Victorville. These poeple use "Christianity" as their marketing tool to attract families to join. They claim it is a "comfortable atmoshphere and family friendly". What a joke! I suppose you can claim anything to try and get busness.I joined and stayed for a very short time and saw nothing that represents anything close to being a true Christian atmosphere from ANY of the staff or "advanced" students. The Christian atmosphere that you think you are getting into is not mutual in any way-it is merely THEIR expectations of YOU as a student to bend over backwards and put up with their hypocrisy.The Bible says all kinds of stuff about how we shoud treat eachother-and the teacher goes on these rants about killing people,hurting students that were disloyal to him, etc.Ive witnessed him belittling students to their faces-bringing them to tears often-and if the Sifu doesnt talk you down in front of others-dont think youre immune! He does it when you leave the room!! I never met one of the top students or his girlfriend ..(starts with an A) but they didnt show to class for some time and Sifu was talking about the guy getting her pregnant while they were in Catalina and said they didnt show as if they were ashamed to show.(like wtf---why is his students personal business not something sacred??? Weird!! And the guy is in his 50's. Ive never seen a teacher act so immature and unbusiness like let alone hisobvious disregard to treat his own family with any amount of common courtesy or respect.(He would yell at his kids from across the room to come and get him a shirt or tie his shoe).My opinion- as well as others who witnessed this with me-is go soemwhere else -anywhere but to Mateo Academy-you will not be treated Christian like or human in any way.There are 3 jeet kune do places in the Inalnd Empire that are all cheaper- and all are either first or second generation Bruce Lee students.Gas isnt cheap, but a drive is so much better than something local thats just not right.. pay attention to the verbal threats and the demeanor the students and the Mateo family display around Mr Sifu--- NO ONE is truly comfortable to say anything.NO ONE. Thats not the atmosphere they claim nor the one I want for my family to train in.PLUS.... they are behind on rent-ALWAYS.you will lose your $$ and whatever $ you spend on your own training gear when they go out of business--but they wont tell you that they are on the verge of closing because MR Sifu chased away all the students..Someone got a clue is all I can say. |
