Martha Grace R. Maala arrested for scam and thief
Baguio City - Police yesterday arrested a suspected thief and scammer Martha Grace R. Maala also known as Pinky.
A woman whom police described as “Estafa Queen” was arrested by police while shopping in Baguio City.
Martha Grace R. Maala a resident of Baguio City, was arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group while shopping in baguio City.
A warrant issued by the Baguio City Municipal Circuit Trial Court was used in the arrest.
At least seven complainants appeared at the CIDG-7 office to lodge a complaint Martha Grace R.Maala .
After the arrest, Maala was brought to the agency’s office in Baguio City. She declined media interviews.
The court recommended P600,000 for her temporary liberty.
A complainant from Baguio City, alleged that Maala failed to pay her P2.5 million for the jewelry that she bought from her in 2003.
Another female complainant said Maala bought jewelry from her worth P900,000.
The woman said she later discovered that the check Martha Grace R. Maala issued to her had no sufficient funds.
