Magnon International committed to deliver regular classifieds site to me in 60 days, and the total amount of the project were about $5500.
I found them on elance.com, and their salesman Gautam Jain obviously over promised me with so many things. Unfortunately I had couple of good experiences on elance.com and I thought this is going to be another good experience.
From the early beginning things sounded a bit weird, they asked me to the cost of every milestone and release to their bank, even before the milestone starts.
The project were led by Rohit Ranjan and he kept giving me false reports on progress that is being done, and he kept asking me to fund more money for the next milestones claiming that he can't allocate the resources if I don't fund the money.
After wasting 60 days with no clear progress, a new project manager were assigned to the project Hemant Nagar and he promised to close the project in 15 days.
In 15 days, nothing were sent to me, and when I got really mad, they sent me links from a silly content management system at the very early stage of customization, which tells me that that hours they spent on my project were no more than 50 hours and they made me pay in total $4500 for this silly work.
Vivek Merani vice president of the company got involved and tried to sell me things that I don't need (like SEO, online marketing...) knowing that they are not going to deliver my project.
When I took the case to elance.com, they shut down their account on elance, but they said they can't get my money back because I already released it to the company.
Conclusion:
Magnon International is a very messy firm from the inside, no matter how elegant & professional they look from outside, and the possibility they will screw up with you is 90%, so if you will ever make the mistake and work with them, here you are some tips:
1- They will ask you to register yourself on an internal link. It is a trap, once you agree on its terms, you agree on non-refund policy.
2- They will design the milestons in a way that you pay 60% of the project before getting serious work delivered. Make sure you change them, if they did not accept, simply cancel the project.
3- They will push hard to make you release every milestone even before it gets started.
4- They will push you to pay some payments through PayPal, claiming they are trustworthy. Don't, because if they screwed up, elance won't be able to help you get your money back.
5- Don't accept their words, if they don't show daily progress, drop the project immediately. My project went into dead end with them, after 2 months they couldn't deliver any serious work, not even alpha version. The biggest project they delivered worth of hunderds dollars only. my project were of $6000.

I've also had a very bad experience with Magnon International. The plan was for them to develop a corporate identity and website for a new business. Their service has been awful throughout, and their sample logos truly awful. I lost faith, asked for me money back, but they refused. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! |
