| Beware of a horse trader from Stockton, California named Lynda Lake. She advertises in Craigslist, Equine Now and her site: goodtobehorsey.com. She is the used car saleman of horse traders - will tell you anything to make a deal. Misrepresented the horse I purchased as 13 and healthy, when in fact he is 20, blind in one eye and has navicular. Even though our contract states I can return the horse, Lynda went completely dark after the purchase. I tried to reach her by phone and email for 2 months, even had my attorney write her a letter. No response until I posted my story about her on Craigslist. She was furious when she called but made no offer to return my $4500. I had may email replies to my Craigslist post (before she had them flagged and removed) from others scammed by Lake. I found out some terrible things about how she runs her business, including drugging of horses and selling older/lame ones to a slaughter agent. Makes my stomach turn. Lynda Lake is one to steer clear of. |

| I'd like to join you in getting the word out to people of "Buyer's Beware"! Sounds like I'm pretty lucky. I purchased a horse a year ago for $5, 500 brought in on consignment. After getting his papers I realized they were incomplete/not signed off by the owner. After she avoided my calls I finally caught her, she said Oh yayaya would get them. I had my suspitions so I called AQHA to find the horse was still registared to the owner and no transfer was made. I contacted the owner who informed me she has never gave him the money!!! So now he is going to take legal action. Thank GOD he is a good man and is signing off the papers for AQHA to put the horse in my name, he could of took the horse from me and I would of been out of $5k and a horse whom I've developed a bond with. I got of lucky in that he is the age his papers stated and especially that he's sound (that I know of). This women needs to be exposed for the incredibly dishonest, lying, cheat that she is!!! I'm gonna do everything possible to spread-the-word! If you read this Lynda, you can't possibly think you can get away with this for long - it's gonna catch up to you/sooner or later! or your gonna mess with the wrong person! could get ugly! Hope you're watch'en you're back! Keep in mind the Horse World is a small world. FYI: I be in touch with every Barrel Racing club, Roper's Association to make sure they know what a piece of shit you are! What you've done/do! |

| I went to look at a horse there last year advertised by Linda Lake. I was no dummy and showed up unannounced. They were fumbling all over them selves but brought the horse out to me. He was so sick he could not hold his head up...maybe drugged. He was filthy. He had an obvious fever and his glands were the size of melons. I pointed all this out to them and they said oh he is just quiet that way. Quiet ny butt he was ready to fall over! I insisted he was sick and then they said we better get him some medicine. I was concerned about strangles. They offered to show me other horses but I saw the ones they were working in the arena were obviously greenbroke.I declined. I left there and went to look at another horse at a reputable stables in the area. They warned me about Linda and said all the local horse people know to stay away from her. I did call back to inquire about the horse the next day and somehow he was already " sold". I hope not, t I hope they just did not want me back, if not someone got a sorry sick horse! |
