Lending Club GetMyOffer.com False Offer, Don't Bother Applying San Francisco, California |
12th of Dec, 2011 by User563199 |
As the title says, don't bother applying here if you could actually use the money for what they suggest. This company is representative of what is wrong with the lending industry and the credit reporting model in general. I have a strong income, and I have NEVER had a late payment recorded to my credit, let alone any delinquencies or write-offs. Because my balance-to-limit is high right now, they claim that is a reason (#1 of 2) they denied me. Even though I had the same balances at the time they made their offer, "pre-approved based on my credit", so the propaganda says, now suddenly it's a problem. Isn't this exactly the situation that a loan for debt consolidation/credit card payoff would be for? Reason #2 of 2 they denied me was because of too many recent inquiries. They mean the auto loan I received on a vehicle I bought two months ago, which lowered my payment, and then a recent refinancing, which made my payment even lower. And the huge slap in the face is that this false offer will now show yet another inquiry on my credit. I realize the debt is my own and I will be paying it off with or without the help of a consolidation. However, I don't believe it is right for them to send an offer that they have no intention of honoring, especially when applying further impacts my credit score. I did enough research on this company before the fact to find out that they aren't an outright scam, however, subsequent research has turned up that they are only bound to give you a loan if you want a small amount, have good credit AND low balances, and, according to other reports, they want you to cosign with other people even with good credit and high income. |

YOU sent me this deal, I didn't inquire about it, I have no problems paying my bills, & would have consolidated the credit cards. I don't have any problems paying, just thought I could save some interest, funny how when I bought my new car I didn't have any problems & my credit score was higher than you say & just a couple weeks ago I was told by the bank that my credit score was 784... gee, makes me wonder where you get your information... as far as my inquiries in my credit, I don't know, must be caused by people like you, I have only had one thing financed in the last year, my car... my credits cards get paid on time every month & I pay more than is necessary, so they can be paid off in 3 years & I do not charge on them now... this all makes me a bad risk...???? Glad I wasn't really expecting this to be any more than a hoax... I am going to repost this on your site, the one about you being a scam... thanks for the laugh!!! I can't find anything being said nice about you, just that you are a scam... shame what the world is coming too... unhappy with your servive from Struthers, Ohio... I copied this from the note I sent back to Getmyoffer.com |

so glad i decided to look on web page and got your warning. i merely wanted to do exactly what u did and they would have put a hit on my credit score all for nothing let alone what other doors it would have opened for other preditors. thanks |

I'm glad I looked this company up first. I too have a good credit score, have long established credit, and never late on a single thing. But, I know my balance to limit is high. which is why consolidating is so appealing. I will just keep chipping away at my balances and own up to them. There should be one more law passed for offers like this to save people that do not do the research... |

Thanks For this information Im at the post office jus was about to mail my info off..But something told me to.google them...Thanks alot... |

It's true do not attempt to try it. No matter how appealing the pre approval letter is. It is all just a sham... |
Thanks guys for sharing us this information. i got a pre approved letter today and i was in the middle of filling up the application . its all shame... |
I too, was thinking of sending in the "pre-approved" application. But after going to Googe.com and reading these reports I'm having second thought. I really don't understand how simply applying for anloan or credit card and beijg denied can effect your credit in the negitive. Can someone explain this to me? Thank you in advance |

Thanks for the heads up on this company. I guess when they say if it sounds too good to be true, it is. I have alot of credit card debt which I hoped to consolidate and receive a lower interest rate, but I can see from your comments that it will only succeed in making my credit score worse. Glad I did the research first! |

Complete scam. I did not get approved for any loan from them though their letter said - pre-approved.
Stay away from these crooks who lie in the fist communication to you. Just what would you expect form them if you actually start dealing with them. |

What a joke this supposed lender is. I haven't had a late payment in 20 years, recently leased a new car that lowered our payment and have great credit scores. Why wouldn't we be able to pay less than what we pay now? Are they afraid we'll pay them off too quickly and pay less in interest? This whole thing just does not make sense to me. Like my father always said, "institutions only want to lend to people who don't need it." These people can piss off! |

LENDING CLUB IS A SCAM, NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED... |
I was just about to apply, glad i read this |

Thank You all for your comments. I too, got a letter in the mail saying I was "Pre-Approved" for up to $35000.00. Sounds really great doesn't it. But after thinking about it, I thought why would they want to take the rist of an un-secured loan. ( I am an ex-banker ) Banks want everything secured with something. Your soul mostly. So I too googled them to see what kind of business this is - not to good by the comments.
To the one signed "Thesquink". Your credit score works like this: (example ) you have $1.00 and everytime someone ask's you what time it is they take a penny away from your dollar. So after awhile your dollar isn't a dollar anymore. Your credit score works the same way. Everytime someone checks it a point goes off it. and your score goes down, not up.
To bad for this business they just lost a good consumer. |

Thank's for the head's up. this LENDING can kiss my you know what. |

Was right about to apply online and this was the first site that came up. Now the letter is going in my shredder. Thanks |
I too was just about to apply online. Glad I saw these posts. Thank You for the warning. I'll deal with my debts fine without Lending Club. |

It's too bad that companies like this can actually send you a "YOU'VE BEEN PRE APPROVED" letter with no intention of actually helping you consolidate your credit card debt. And then when you apply it seems to lower your credit rating - which isn't worth it & doesn't make any sense. I'm so glad I decided to look on line before I looked on their site or filled anything out. Also, if you read the fine print The 6.78% financing rate is only for the first $10, 000 or less. **DO NOT GET SUCKERED INTO THIS DEAL** |
I too received such an appealing offer from the Lending Club. "Up to $35, 000, APR: Starting at 6.78%, at least $10, 000 guaranteed". Wow!!!, I thought, and almost applied. BUT... Thanks to divine intervention and consumers like you, I didn't. I am glad I did my research. What a Scam! Can't Thank You Enough :) |
