I am 78 years old, and I must admit I'm not as fast as I used to be, and I can't consume the things I've had in the past anymore. "Getting old ain't for sissies", they say. However, my age should have nothing to do with the way I was treated the other day.

I have been losing weight lately, and my doctor tells me I should exercise for 20 minutes per day, and drink smoothies and/or protein shakes. Therefore, after my workout the other day, I walked up to the smoothie counter at about noon to grab a nice smoothie. I couldn't find anyone at the desk, no help, no salesperson, nothing. I waited about 10 minutes before I decided to ask the girl at the gym counter if anyone was working behind the smoothie stand. She replied "oh yes! Keith is right there", as she pointed outside. The nice young lady kindly opened the door and yelled to Keith "you have a customer, Keith!" What a sweetheart she was.

About 20 minutes later, Keith came in and walked behind the counter. "I was on my break" he said, seeming sort of annoyed. I told him what my doctor wants me to have, and asked him what he preferred. After about a 10-second hideous glare at me, he said "I'll figure something out." He whipped up a smoothie and slammed it on the counter. "11.50, Pops", he said to me. I said "please, call me Miguel, not Pops". I gave him a $20 dollar bill and he told me he doesn't have any change in the drawer. He said that he could refund me the difference on a smoothie gift card. "Whatever", I thought, frustrated at this point. Not only was this such an expensive smoothie, he also did not have any change.

I took one sip of this smoothie and almost gagged! "What do you have in this?!" I asked. "Bananner", he replied, with a weird New York accent. I told him that I was very sorry, but it tasted terrible, and there was no way I'd be able to finish it. "May I get something else?" I asked. Just then, I saw a MADMAN erupt...

With wide-open eyes, veins bulging, and tomato-red skin color, Keith Friberg grabbed my smoothie with one hand, held it up in front of my face, and squeezed the hell out of it! The 20 oz. cup literally POPPED right in front of my face! (About 1 or 2 inches away from my nose). Smoothie fragments go all over my new eyeglasses, all in my hair, and all over my new workout leotard. Keith then took what was left of that cup and heaved it at his own wall behind him! The smoothie again exploded and started oozing down the wall. It was then where I could actually SEE words written in the wall from the smoothie! It clearly read "RIPOFF!" I couldn't believe my eyes!

I have very high blood pressure, so I must've spaced out at some point during this altercation, because the next thing I remember is Keith all of a sudden face-to-face with me screaming "DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID, OLD MAN?!?! WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT?!?!?" The sight of this man was so scary, it was as if "Psycho Sid" was right in front of my face screaming at me! His spit was flying in my face the entire time! He was screaming at me like a raging lunaticI was so nervous and scared, I started tearing up. I was so confused, I couldn't talk anymore.

The last thing he did was slam another smoothie down on his counter as he said to me "Take this and get the hell out of here." That's when he disappeared outside. The nice lady who helped me get Keith ran up to me all frantic and hysterical, asking me if I was ok. She, too, was in tears. She helped clean off my face and my eyeglasses, and she escorted me to my vehicle, along with two personal trainers. The best piece of advice she could give me was "Stay clear of Keith. He's crazy."

I now know never to go back to his smoothie counter again...
