I was looking to purchase a dog for my daughter last Christmas. I wanted a smart, well behaved dog. i started doing some on-line research and was sold on a "family protection dog". It sounded perfect, exactly what i was looking for. This particular company (guy) seemed to have an impressive clientele history. My wife and i went to meet him and look at a particular dog that he thought would suit our family, Rex. upon arriving to his house he instructed us to stay in our car and watch him work with Rex. Rex seemed impressive, he obeyed all commands, wasn't to hyper nor aggressive....He then allowed us out of our car and introduced us to Rex. He told us that we needed to come to "visit" Rex 3x a week over the next 2 weeks so that the transition wouldn't be bad on the dog. At this time we handled Rex (with the trainer present) Towards the end of the 2 weeks Rick (the owner/Operator of K9 Enforcement) told us that Rex was going to need a shock collar... I wasn't totally comfortable with the idea of having to shock the dog in order for him to listen but i thought maybe after having him home for a while i would be able to quit using it. We had Rex for a total of 3 moths before we had to GIVE him back. On multiple occasions he became aggressive and attempted to attack my 8 year old daughter. I called Rick about it a few times and was instructed to continue shocking him until he stops barking at our daughter. This wasn't working. No one in our home felt safe and it wasn't fair to "abuse" Rex. When we purchased this dog Rick told us over and over how wonderful Rex was with children, Not the case... We ended up giving Rex back to Rick only to find out that he sold him to another FAMILY with children. He has pictures on his website with Rex and "Sold" Not only did we get ripped off but he completely put our family in danger....Please be careful with this company!!!! |
