I had to initiate disputes with my credit card companies to get their attention. Gwen was unresponsive to my emails. Come to find out she was out of the office, so apparently she is the only person in the company who handles disputes. Ordered a Montana Log Computer Desk, Dining Room table and 4 chairs. The wood used for the dining room furniture had splits in each piece except for the table tops and seat bottoms. The table was shipped without instructions to assemble and when I tried to assemble it, I noticed the bore holes were off-center, not allowing the table to be assembled soundly. I fought for 2+ weeks for them to take the items back, which they eventually did and issued a refund for. The computer desk arrived damaged in freight due to poor packaging. I agreed to a replacement computer desk, which took about a month to manufacture and ship. The replacement desk arrived today, damaged in shipment due to poor packaging. I called in today (11/12/2010) about the replacement desk and spoke with someone who told me I would have to wait until Tuesday to get this remedied, when Gwen returns. It appears this company contracts with wood-shops through the US, so there is no direct quality control from the JMX, let alone standards on packaging of finished goods. For as much as the furniture costs, one would think they would have a minimum set of standards when it comes to protecting the finished items. 1/8" of cardboard wrapped in plastic on a $1000 desk seems to be cutting corners.

WE ORDERED A SIMPLE STAND MADE OF PINE. APPRANTLY YOU COULD "CUSTOMIZE" IT. FOR THIS ITEM THIS MEANT CHOOSING A STAIN AND A FLORAL DESIGN IF SO DESIRED. THE STRUCTURE OF THE ITEM WAS NOT CUSOMIZABLE. THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE THEIR WEBSITE STATED IT WOULD BE COMPLETED FROM 2 TO 3 WEEKS. WELL, ON APRIL 24, 2001, WE ORDERED IT. WE WERE CASUALLY SITTING ONE DAY AND WONDERED...HMMM WHERE IS THAT STAND? SO I LOOKED UP THE ORDER AND REALIZED THAT 4 WEEKS HAD PASSED. I HAD BETTER CALL AND FIND OUT WHAT IT GOING ON. I FIRST WENT TO THEIR WEBSITE AND FOUND MY ORDER..IN THE AREA MARKED CURRENT STATUS...NOTHING WAS WRITTEN..IT WAS BLANK. WE THEN REMEMBERED THAT WE HAD ORDERED SOMETHING FROM THEM BEFORE AND NOT ONLY HAD TROUBLE GETTING THE ITEM, BUT WE WERE GIVEN CONFLICTING INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT WE HAD ORDERED AND WHEN IT WOULD BE DELIVERED. SO I DECEIDED TO CALL. THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED TOLD ME THAT CUSTOM FURNITURE TAKES MORE TIME BECAUSE IT IS MADE TO ORDER. I HAD TO LAUGH BECAUSE, WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A 3 FOOT PINE BOX WITH 3 DRAWERS...SOMETHING THEY MUST SELL SEVERAL OF EACH YEAR..FOR ALL I KNOW, THEY COULD BE ORDERING THIS STUFF FROM CHINA WHICH WOULD EXPLAIN WHY IT TAKES SO LONG. IF THEY WERE MAKING IT..THEY WOULD HAVE TEMPLATES PREPARED..BECAUSE AGAIN, WE DIDN'T DRAW UP A DESIGN FOR THEM TO MAKE...WE CHOSE A FIXED DESIGN THAT THEY HAVE AND WE CHOOSE THE FINISH. WE DIDNT ORDER ANY FLORAL DESIGN. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CUT 2 SIDES, A BOTTOM AND TOP SUPPORT PIECE, 3 DRAWERD AND A BACK? I AM NOT AT ALL PLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY AND WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN. 2 TO 3 WEEKS SHOULD NOT BE ADVERTISED ON THEIR WEBSITE...IT IS FALSE AND VERY MISLEADING.
THE ITEM FINALLY ARRIVED TODAY, JUNE 10, 2011, 7, THATS SEVEN WEEKS LATER.
I HAVENT LOOKED AT THE STAND YET, WHAT COULD BE WRONG WITH A PINE BOX WITH DRAWERS...I GIVE THE LOW RATING BASED ON THE MISLEADING ADVERTISING REGARDING COMPLETION TIME AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE |
