We were another senior citizen couple horribly treated by Long View Super Stores in Dover, Florida.
We actually purchased our 38' Elk Ridge 34TSRE at the Tampa RV Show 1/12/2011. We filled out all the papers & thought all was done. We were told to pick up our unit on 1/19/2011 at dealership in Dover, FL. We had to fill out all the paperwork again, which took hours & the sale amount had been changed & we shuffled to other people all the time. It ended up that we had to pick the unit up a week later.
We ask that the sofa be changed to a different color before we picked the unit up. WOW!Did that open up a can of worms! We were first refused by sales person, manager & owner. I emailed the Heartland Corporation in Elkart, IN. & were told that changing sofa's should not be a problem at all. We finally got that situation taken care of because I told the the dealershipI went on Facebook. They didn't like that.
We fianlly had another date to pick up the unit & make the transfer from ours. We were told the new rig would be detailed & checked for anything not working. Yeh, right! We were offered no help at all during the transferr. Not even offered a bottle of water. It was very warm that day. We had to go up & down the steps on both rigs. We had been told from other rv'ers that they were offered a plank that went to both doors so you could cross back & forth. We were also told that we would have to pay $2000.00 more because our old rig had wall damage, which we told them about. All papers had been signed!! We told them they were not getting another penny from us. I had to ask for a receipt & they gave my husband a paper stating "we promise nothing & you owe nothing". WHAT KIND OF RECEIPT IS THAT? Talk about shisters!
If they checkedthe new rigthey would have found the microwave did not even light up to show the clock. It was "DEAD". The kitchen water faucet was just a stream. We called the dealership back right away & told them the problems we were having. The said to bring the rig back in. We ask if they could come to us, which was only 20 minutes away. We were told we would have to pay $75.00 for a service call. Mind you, we had only had the rig 1 day & was just startng to unpack containers from the transfer. We called Heartland Customer Service & was rudely treated over the phone. It ended up that we had to take the microwave out of its area & take it back to the dealership. We were told that they had to order another one & did not know how long it would take. So now we are without a microwave.
The walls have been damaged when they changed the sofa. The outside door would not close right & the wood trim in bedroom was off & laying on the floor. You can't go barefoot on the carpet because there are so many stapels sticking out.
We will never recommend Long View RV Super Stores, Dover, Florida to anyone. They are cold, rude & sneaky and don't care how they treat senior citizens. They just want the money and they think seniors are dumb.
And by the way, we paid "CASH" & they still made us fill out a financial paper. Nothing was financed.
WE ADVISE THAT NO ONE GO TO LONG VIEW SUPER STORES TO BUY ANYTHING!!
