JM Leving Law Cathherine Delgadillo, Jenet Pequeno, Anthony Degostino Misrepresentation of services. Chicago, Illinois
12th of Jan, 2011 by User187448
Beware of JM Leving LAW out of Chicago, IL. These guys are just gems of the legal system. I am a single father that was taken advantage of by my ex-wife and her lawyer in our dissolution & parenting agreement. Which led me to seek what I thought was representation by JM Leving Law...they saw me coming... Shame on me for being taken twice. You would think YOUR lawyer would protect you and honor their their services to achieve your goals.

Not is this case. I retained JM Levings's services in Aug of 09, and the Primary focus was to seek an amendment to the dissolution agreement that states my ex-wife is entitled to 25% of my annual (if any) bonus. My ex-wife and I agreed that she would not go after anything more than child support and I would split additional expenses with her for day care, insurance, etc. She receives over $1800 in Child Support from each month. In addition, she pulls in 55K a year on her own. I say she is doing pretty good for a mother of two children and a supportive Father/ex-husband.

Secondary focus was to attain a fresh copy of a the parenting agreement that states I have Joint legal custody of both our children. This was not a big request since on the day of our divorce, the judge ordered my Ex-wife's attorney to furnish a amended copy to me asap. Since I had not received this after 2 months of our divorce, I asked JM Leving to include this in the initial motion.

I was asked furnish a $7500 retainer fee and explained to this law firm that I could not afford anything above 10K for their services so the faster and more direct we handle this the better off we will all be. I provided them with a comprehensive spreadsheet of all my expenses to indicate I was in no financial position to throw money at this case. I paid them an additional $2500 in Feb 2010 still with no result on either goals.

I paid 10K for nothing...In Jan 2010, I was not only order by my ex-wife's lawyer to pay 25% of my bonus but also was advised by y own lawyers to pay as to avoid a contempt of court motion...WHAT??? By late May, I decided enough was enough...they was no progress and JM Leving still had the nerve to bill be another $9,600 that they are still sending me invoices for and trying to collect.

I have filed a complaint wit the ARDC (Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission) on 7/26/10

First and hopefully the last time I will ever need to use a lawyer!!!

If your a responsible father and ever need council, DO NOT use JM Leving law for representation!!! They will eat your wallet away!!!
