InStockDigital.com crazycameradeals.com Fishy company with questionable business practices, Internet |

This company is showing up on Nextag with incredible prices and 100% positive reviews. (around 37) each of the "reviewers" gave them 5 stars (the maximum) The Nextag seller description talks about 0% restocking fee. No physical address, not even a City. After I placed my order for a Nikon D90 for 745,- I received a generic email that would not even confirm what I ordered, not even my name on it or the price for the merchandise. Just an order number and a bunch of details that revealed that I did not order a regular camera in its original box. Instead, the camera would be shipped in "a white box". This email also announced that the price would change (tax, insurance, etc., etc.) I have never placed an order, entered my credit card number and then get a message that the price would be determined later. If I place an online order I agree to a certain price and that's what I get charged. After some research I found out that the whole purpose of the price well below their competitors is to call you and involve you in a high pressure sales conversation in which they disclose that the camera won't come with a regular rechargeable battery but with a "one way battery" (the description only talks about "battery" but won't specify what kind of battery. So at the end you will pay the same or even more than with a reputable seller. It also looks like the camera will be a grey market import, so you won't get any warranty through Nikon USA. I read very similar stories about another online camera seller and it pretty much looks like they just changed their name after too many bad reports were posted. After posting my one star report on Nextag, it would not show up. It also looks like they are identical with "crazycameradeals". I canceled my order immediately and would recommend to stay away from this business. |

Thanks for posting about InStockDigital.com. I almost gave them a call to ask about what came with a Nikon P500 advertised @ $329.00 on Nextag. After reading the small print with a * next to it on Nikon.com.USA about what came with it, it occurred to me that it probably isn't made for the US market.
Keep on telling it like it is! If it sounds too good...

Placed an order for Canon S95 for $329.00 and got an email as described by User969615 above. I called them right away to hear them tell me that the price went up to 369.00 because they have a mandatory charge of $40.00 for "insurance". When I said that I don't need the insurance I was told that I can cancel the order which I did with much disgust. There was NO mention of these “extra charges” anywhere on their web site! No one should do business with these guys!!! |

I just cancelled my order with them. They list a camera for $365 (great price) plus free shipping. They called me and wanted to sell me a bunch of accessories (high pressure salesmen). I told them no thank you. They then told me that there is a mandatory $49 fee for insurance. They are crooks. Stay away from these guys. |

I purchased a FugiFilm Finepix HS10 from instockdigital.com for $275.00. Good price, but my card was charged $335.00. I called and was told the extra $60.00 was shipping and insurance but he told me they were throwing in a years warranty, a lens cleaning kit (value 1 dollar), a small tripod (value 2 dollars). WhooHoo! Waving first finger in the air. My fault for not asking for the ins. and shipping charges up front. Still not a bad price but add in the sloooooow shipping, (about a month) for a camera that was supposedly "in stock" and I decided not to do business with them again. I bought a Square Trade warranty to be on the safe side. |

Almost bought a Nikon Coolpix 9100 from them. Very shady and I normally do my homework but they had high ratings on NexTag. The guy that I talked to was the same guy that emailed me that was also the same voice on the Automated Answer Service. He is a fast talker and thank goodness I made him slow down and give me the details of what he was charging my c/c. 8% handling fee/insurance - really?????? I told him to that at that point, I could go to a store and purchase it for cheaper. I canceled with no problem - seemed like he had heard that a time or two. BEWARE!!! |

Pretty much the same story as everyone else. I made a purchase and their whole ordering system was a little fishy. I figured oh well I'm getting a good deal. You can always cancel your credit card if something goes awry. They never shipped anything. Thankfully. I had to call in and they informed me that the product did not come with a battery ($39 for a 3 hour one $60 for a 5 hour). I was like OK so how much was the cheap one again, then the guy remarks, well you need a charger too. Those are $20. Of course I cancelled being that I can get the product somewhere else for far cheaper. I said this to the guy and he said no problem its cancelled, have a god one. They know they are running a scam to the point that they don't even argue with you.
