Green Max Distributors, formerly Alpha International Products, is the distributor of X-Treme Scooters. They sold a couple of electric scooters to my girlfriend and it was a nightmare from the beginning. The product is made in China which they do not disclose, they say they are the manufactures of these cheap scooters. The scooters came in very poor condition, the boxes looked like they had been shipped around the world a couple of times and then stored in a wet moldy warehouse somewhere. There were missing parts, broken parts, no owner's manual and a big notice on the box not to return the scooter but to call. A phone call gets you a very helpful and courteous customer care person who has no ability to do anything for you except open a support ticket. You can't talk to the support techs, you have to wait for an email and then "talk" to them on the same support ticket. They take 3-4 days to answer and then only to ask stupid questions like "did you check the fuse?" Next comes an offer to send parts under warranty but you have to do the repairs and they expect you to do electrical wiring yourself on the scooter. It takes weeks to get answers and they never let you talk to anyone, not even a supervisor would return my calls. Once you get fed up with this routine and ask to return the scooter for a refund you find out that you have to pay to ship the scooter back to them. And the "refund" is the biggest scam of all because they charge you the original shipping price, even though they claim shipping is free, AND they charge a "restocking fee" on top of that! One of the scooters we got had batteries that were swollen and looked ready to explode. We were instructed to ship the batteries to them, again at our expense, so they could test them. The cost of doing business with them is unbelievable. When you ask why you have to pay to ship a defective product back they simply state that it is their company policy! Crappy company policy in my opinion...and crappy, defective, inferior product. Steer clear of these scam artists unless you want a lesson in fixing electric scooters...at your expense. |
