I went to GrantAssist.com to see if I could find a federal grant that might help my business. Instead I found myself in a scam that started by signing up for an informational CD to be delivered but it only contained what I had already read on their site. Unbeknownst to me there was a "7 day free trail" associated with this that was buried in their "term of use" agreement that says that you will be charged $57.93 a month for your subscription. All I wanted was the info CD, not a subscription that I was unaware of signing up for. They will not refund anything and refused to help in any way. They do not say anything on the sign-up section of the site about a subscription fee nor do they indicate anywhere (other than in the term of use buried in legalize) do they say anything about it. This is very deceptive and is not good business. Stay away from doing ANY business what-so-ever with these scams at GRANTASSIST.COM they are thieves and don't care if they are or not! Besides just read what's on the site and you'll have everything they offer for free!! I called my bank to dispute the charge and they said they have no rights to back-charge the account since it was in a different country. That also tells you to stay away! There's a reason they don't have offices here in the US, one is they can't be brought to justice and two, I'll have a harder time finding them for myself! They are fortunate about the latter for sure! Bottom-line STAY AWAY FROM GRANTASSIST.COM the only thing they assist you with is removing money from you pocket...nothing more! |

Same thing just happened to me. I purchased the CD back in April of this year. They lead me to believe that the charge was $2.97. No where did it say it would charge my card $57.93 at that time. Now. two months later, they have charged the same credit card. I've tried calling to speak with someone and the person who answered would not even allow me to speak with a supervisor (very rude and not helpful at all) nor would he give me the corporate office number. I've surfed the internet site and find no additional numbers to call. If any one can determine whether a law suit can be filed against this scam company, please let me know. This is out right theft!!!
Also, at the time when they charged my account in April, their web site was Grantassist.com NOW it is Grantassist.org. it looks like they have changed the language now on their site to include the $57.93 charge. Obviously, I would not be going to a website looking for grant assistance if I had money to give away. There should be something that can be done to these crooks!!! |

I AM STUPID! I wanted to check into getting grant money for my business. Signed up to only receive paperwork for $2.97. I just looked at my account and now have a charge for $57.93. Called my bank and now have to go through the process of stopping these crooks from taking anything! I did not give them approval, actually never went on their site. I was doing an online deal to get paid for opinions on products and came accross this. STupid! I believe I will get my money back because Wells Fargo is coming to the rescue. Watch where you use your card! |
