Grab Swag
Grab Swag scammed me out of $99 without my consent Internet
12th of Jul, 2011 by User883575
I thought this would be a good site to bid and get items at a discount. They said I would get 10 free bids when I sign up so I did. After signing up they asked for my credit card information ( I entered it assuming it would only be used if I won something). My account was charged $99. It turns out there is not even a way to sign in or get back into the site. I am in college and dont have the money to just throw out freely...

Ok, and how can you prove this ? How can I know that you are not someone from the competition ?

Thanks,

Jack

I also was scammed. Their website is very misleading. I am trying to dispute these charges.

What a racket.

I am going to report to the Better Business Bureau

I had the same thing happen. I called the number listed on the automatic email they sent, and also sent an email to their [email protected] address. No response and the phone line simply hung up on me. I found another phone number this morning on another scam site. I spent 33 minutes on the phone with a customer service rep, and then with a supervisor, trying to explain that I didn't see the $99 charge listed anywhere, and that there's nowhere to log-in to the site. They didn't understand and offered at best a 50% refund. I'm now disputing it with my bank.

Worst experience ever online.

07/15/2011 Just had the same thing happen to me. Saw this on Facebook, link. It aired a network news link that reported on, tried it and recommended it. I watched this then hit the link to GS. Page asked for and I entered name, user name and password to set up account. Second screen asked for CC info. Entered it. Nowhere did it mention $99 charge for membership. Careful, they already pre-checked the box for "Agreeing to Terms and Conditions." (With most other companies, they require you to check it after the link has been accessed.) Next screen stated $99 charged to CC. Could not return to previous page. When I received E-Mail I got onto web site. Found Phone # and called. Spoke with Two CS persons and two supervisors. Stated to me that web site states in "Terms and Conditions" about one time membership charge. I then checked and read the Terms and Conditions. Nowhere in Terms and conditions is there any mention of a Membership charge. On the Web site you can buy bids. In there web screen to sign up they only offer 25, 50, 75 & You set the number of bid charges. It is a $.75 charge to buy each bid. Amazingly the $99. charge just happens to be the same as the charge would be for 132 bids. (132 X .75 = $99.00) The 132 bids were the # of bids you get with the10 free bids they add on. What Free Bids? Was told I could only get 50% refund due to agreeing to "Terms and Conditions." Again Not mentioned in Introductory paragraph or the 25 sections of "Terms & Conditions." All this occurred on the sidebar link in Facebook. If you go to their web page...When setting up account you are asked to buy bids, as I listed above. In "Terms and Conditions" make sure you read Sections # 11, 12 & 14, "Win Limits", "Shipping Fees and Delivery of Purchases" & "Bid Expiration and Account Termination", respectively. The Better Business Bureau is one avenue but Your State's Attorney General's office of Consumer Affairs is another. Please be Careful. Wish I saw this Site first.

Addition : Here is how it works. Say you bid on a $100.00 item. The winning Bidder gets it for $20.00 + S&H. That's 80% off the retail Price. Bidding goes on at $.01 per bid till over. That's 2000 bids each costing $.75 or $1500.00. Winning bidder's cost: Bids + $20.00 + S&H. Great if you win and didn't use too many bids. Company takes in $1500 for bids + $20 + S&H for item.

It happened to me yesterday (07/16/2011). I was freak out. Does anyone get money back by disputing with your own credit card company? Or does anyone use the bids and win the product?

Please Help

Thank you everyone for reporting this. I was looking for an iPad on Craigslist, and found one for 100 dollars. I decided to check it out and email her, then she said sorry I sold it. Then she sent me a link with GrabSwag saying get a really discounted one here at this website. Checked out the website, and automatically thought I could get an easy iPad. I was just about to put information of Credit when I found out it was a scam. Everybody put this in your head-------- If Its Too God To Be True, Its Not True!

i have the same story, luckily I called my bank and no information was listed about the merchant so they took off my charge, its only a sticky situation cuz we all entered our info, thinking that they wouldn't charge us until we bought something. What a bunch of bullshit. I was SOOOO mad. Thanks for all the feedback though =)

Fake website. Even I got a mail from a lady saying that this website will be good to get the products at cheaper prices. When I signed up they charged $99 which I am trying to dispute with my bank.
