Global Leasing, LLC Izzy Group, LLC Over-the-road truck purchase scam in Orlando, Florida |

I responded to an ad in a trucker's magazine for individuals with less than perfect credit to lease a truck for $2,995.00 down and monthly payments of $1,160.00 per month for 18 months. I made contact with salesman John Morrello and was sent a contract by e-mail. The contract was signed and I authorized a debit from my checking account in the amount of $2,995.00 on August 30, 2012. I was told that the truck would be available for pick-up in 3 to 4 weeks. For the first truck I was promised, I received a Proof of Lease Verification and Pickup form on September 17 by e-mail. There was NEVER a pick-up location address or date specified. I had my company put insurance on the truck in anticipation of a pick-up date. Blake (the boss) kept telling me that there was a problem with the title to the truck and everyday he was expecting it to come in the mail. The title never came. Blake finally said that he would give me another truck. On November 1, he e-mailed another Proof of Lease Verification and Pickup form for truck number 2. I notified my company to transfer the insurance from truck number 1 to truck number 2. The second truck had a pickup date of November 2, but included a note that lessor needed to be contacted if appointment could not be kept. I told him that I would pick up the truck the first week in December and he agreed. When I contacted him the first week of December, he told me that the person in charge of the truck in Macon, Ga had a death in the family and would not be available until Monday December 10 and that he also had a death in his family and would not be available until Tuesday December 11. When I called on Tuesday I was told that Blake would be available in 45 minutes and no one has answered the phone since. On Monday December 17, my wife called from her phone, a number they did not recognize, and they answered right away. John brought Blake to the phone and Blake told my wife that he would call Macon and get us on the pick up schedule. He said to call back in an hour. Of course there was no answer in an hour. At the end of the business day they answered the phone and said that the truck had to be sent out for an oil sample. This is the same truck that was supposedly ready for pick-up on November 2. Now they are not answering their phones again. I have bought and canceled a plane ticket and paid for insurance on two different trucks and still do not have the truck. |
