I am a former independent contractor for this company. I was not a paid employee but somehow still managed to get myself fired due to "non-performance". This seems to be a euphemism for "we did not want to pay you on a long term contract that you sold". Basically, the company is comprised of a bunch of 25-30ish kids playing start up. They built a website from an idea one of them stole from his former partner and are now sucking in commission only contractors with the promise of unspecified equity and great riches through easy sales... and then cheating them out of commissions and firing them because they are not towing the company line. I have also found out that the client I sold a package worth roughly $10,000 to (which also happens to be the same client associated with the disputed commission issue) is not getting the promised results after several months. I sold the package in good faith relying on the expertise of technical specialists in social media and online visibility. This "expertise" was supposed to deliver a return on investment by driving new customers into the business. Now it seems as if it was all just smoke and mirrors being sold by some semi-slick guys. After all, I consider myself to be a very savvy judge of character, especially in professional situations, and I got snowed just like a lot of their customers. For 3 months of my time, dedication and consulting expertise outside of just performing sales, I made about $500. Obviously, when you factor in that I was cheated out of quite a bit of what I was expecting, it is easy to imagine why I stayed that long and tried to make it work. I also continued to believe far longer than I should have because I was the person who brought in a former colleague to try to get their directory visible in the search engines. I thought this would change the game in terms of demand for the service and for my own sales, but unfortunately this former colleague proved to be worthless also. Another "expert" who could not deliver. I am a business owner and a professional with a strong resume who was just doing this on the side for some quick cash flow as my primary business was slow at the time. If you are a business owner and you are reading this, I would strongly caution against doing business on any level with this company. Apart from the reasons above, below are some others. Their "video business directory" is invisible in Google, and they are trying to pass themselves off now as a video production/social media/web design/SEO company. While they might be able to produce a fairly polished video product, they cannot deliver all of the other elements needed to create visibility for the video. In order for these videos to be visible, the finditkc.com directory needs to be visible in search engines. Unfortunately, the only way you can find them in Google is to type out their business name. Here is a test if you are not buying my commentary. Randomly pick any of their categories, type the category into Google (or any other search engine) and geographically tag it by typing in KC or Kansas City after the category. See for yourself whether www.finditkc.com is anywhere to be found.

I have worked for fimedia since last April. The people that I have worked with here have been good people. I would not want to work for anybody else. I am sure there is some catorgies on our site that might not show up on Google. But that is what happens when you are a bright new company. It's a great work place and a great new idea. So call it a scam call it what you want but I just would like to say it is a great place to call a work. We all know who wrote this article and all of us know how bad of an unprofessional this person is.

First of all, I work at fimedia and I love it here. I was shocked to read the post about how”bad” fimedia is. Not only do all of our clients like their videos that we have produced, but they keep coming back for more of our services. I’ve worked here for 5 months now, and even though I never met the person that wrote the negative post, I know exactly who he is because the management team has used him as an example of a bad salesman and an even worse employee.

The pay structure of the company works with each department, Each individual sales associate is given the option of being completely commissioned based, or they can work hourly with a smaller commission. The person that wrote the bad article chose to be 100% commission based, therefore, since he barely had any sales, he made a small amount of money. I guess he didn’t realize what 100% commission really means. The more sales you have = the more money you make.

I speak for all the staff here, but it is a great place to work. We get paid great, and the work environment is very relaxed and fun. And to be honest, I don’t see a problem with having a company with a majority of 25-30 year olds working there. As long as they do the job correctly, then the age shouldn’t be an issue.

I had to laugh when I read the title of the article, because it shows that the former employee didn’t even know how to brand the company correctly. Our branding of the company is fimedia, NOT FI media. If a sales associate can’t get that right, then how can they speak to the public about how “bad” it is?

This is a great company for a person to work at, and for a business to work with!
