ETunes LLC Ripped off my Amex Card for $20.80... van nuys, California |
4th of Apr, 2011 by User958485 |
My American Express card showed a charge for $20.80 in March which I did not make. I checked my statement and learned the biller was ETunes LLC of Van Nuys, CA. I reported the false charge to Amex, who said they would take care of it. But that it would take maybe six weeks. I suspect, since I have seen two more such frauds reported on the internet in March, that ETunes LLC focuses on Amex, knowing they have a six week window to rake in all these charges, then skedaddle to a new company name and address and start again. The question is, where are they getting the Amex credit card listings? All three of us reporting this one report that it was an Amex charge: not Visa, not M/C I am unhappy with Amex, for two reasons: 1. they take too long to fix this, and 2. my online statement still shows the same total, when they said they'd take it off my statement. I doesn't look like they did. |

I too have 20.80 charge from Etunes LLC van nuts. Same story from Amex, six weeks. Is amex in on this scam? |

I too have had a charge for $22.67 on my Amex. I disputed the charge but now think I will call Amex to issue a different account number, since apparently the ETunes (and possibly others) have my account information sufficient to post such charges. |

I just checked my account status (April 13th) and I found that I, too, had been charged by this same company in the amount of 23.80. It is definitely a scam. I do not use my American Express that much so I believe my card has been compromised by a recent stay in Vegas (no gambling, just a hotel). If you have a similar experience leave a message here, and we can figure this thing out. |

Today when I checked my most recent Amex statement I found an unauthorized charge from Etunes LLC of Van Nuys. I called Amex to dispute the transaction. I have not recently stayed in a hotel. |

Me too. US$23.57 charged on 11th April to my account, but I have an Australian Amex card. I recently travelled to Denver for work and I booked my accomodation through Denver.com which is run by Travelscape LLC and/or IAN.com L.P.. I have filed my dispute form with Amex, but they say it can take up to 60 days to resolve. |

|
|
It just happened to me - charged $23.23. Why does AMEX accept charges from this scammer? |
|
|

I also just found a charge on my AmEx for $24.09--just charged 2 days ago. So glad I happened to check my account status today! This is NOT good! I'm posting a warning on my Facebook acct to warn others! |

$22.31 and $23.65 charged to my AMEX -- and I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn at Amelia Island. Same posting day for hotel charges and Etunes charges. Not good!!! |

I stayed in a Holiday Inn a week ago--not sure if that correlates to my charge 1 week later. --Veronicad1 |

I had two charges on my Amex card on March 20, 2011. It was on my husbands card. I called American Express and they immediately credited our account and are going to look into it. |

I too have an Amex charge for $20+ that sneaked in just on the closing date for the month. I've filed a dispute, and hopefully Amex will realize that they're getting hundreds of disputes about this company and cut them off. I've used the card for a fair amount of online and in-person shopping (everything from groceries to Nordstrom) in several different parts of the country, but no travel/hotel expenses. I too wonder if it has to do with that recent big email dump. Or has some other credit processor lost our data and not 'fessed up to it? |

I just had a charge for $25.04 to this same ETunes and am concerned that they have my card information. I will call AMEX in the morning to report it after seeing all this information. |

Further to above, Amex (Australia) have told me it was a fraudulent charge and have cancelled my card. If I didn't let them cancel my card, they would not refund the charge. The charge was reversed the next day. |

I just had a $22.84 charge on my Amex from ETunes. How did they get my card information ?? I am going to request a new card since it takes six weeks for Amex to investigate the charge. |

I have the same charge of $24.47 ! This is fraud. |

Boo-yah 25.64 here... a Costco AMEX card...
Called and the rep wasn't aware of etunes fraud.
Why don't we ever receive a concise explanation of how this data was compromised and by whom, rather than just get sent a new card - there's never an answer.
THIS is how easily ALL of your personal data is available to ANYONE! |
