This post was created to WARN potential landlords, creditors, employers, ANYONE who could even fathom lending money, their home, their time to ERIC WAYNE COX of Washington DC. BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING: do a simple criminal history check. Do a DC Small Claims Court and Landlord/Tenant Court check. DO A CREDIT CHECK. If you do, you won't have to take my word for it. You will find: FELONIES for crimes of deception (aka, grand theft auto, theft by check--uttering, etc) MULTIPLE JUDGMENTS against him Alleged stolen money from EMPLOYERS MULTIPLE landlords that he LIED TO about his criminal history, work history, past tenancy, etc, and that he BURNED by not paying any money at all to, and then abused the court system, knowing that it would take a few months to legally evict (this has happened to at least three landlords in the last two years) LIES to employers about work history, skills, reason for leaving last employer, etc Several charges of being a FUGITIVE from justice ERIC WAYNE COX OF WASHINGTON DC AND PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY, MD has MANY people looking for him. He has ex-employers that say that he stole money, ex-landlords that he skipped out on rent for, WATCH OUT FOR:
**He will insist on signing a two year lease to put your mind at ease, but wont pay past the first month (happened to the last two landlords) **Will insist that when he cannot pay rent, he has another source to help, but never delivers **He will have a story and an excuse for everything, which should tell you to VERIFY every word out of his mouth **False references (employment, past rental history, etc) **will claim to work as either a hairdresser, a restaurant manager, a host, or a server WHATEVER YOU DO: beware of this con artist. DO NOT TRUST WHAT HE SAYS. VERIFY ANYTHING HE SAYS WITH A CREDIBLE SOURCE, NOT SOURCES HE GIVES YOU. ERIC WAYNE COX AKA "Egypt" has many judgments against him, has been evicted more than once, owes landlords over $15,000, yet drives a silver Jaguar. Beware of this as a landlord--he will insist on a safe place to park his car (garage, etc) but WILL NOT PAY PAST THE FIRST MONTH RENT. Do not trust him with your asset. DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT!!! Go to this website: https://www.dccourts.gov/cco/ at the right side of the screen, click on "Search Cases". Put in "Eric Cox" and see the many MANY cases that come up. Count the number of landlord/tenant cases alone. Or the creditor cases. That's just the number of people who can find this scam artist! We've heard of people to whom Eric Cox allegedly owes LARGE sums of money and they cannot find him to serve court documents. SAD. See how many people he has scammed/burned. And learn from all of the many victims--don't be the next.
