Ellington Lenders complete scam Internet |

I am a Finance Manager at a car dealership. My sister called me and told me that she had some large medical bills she had to pay back and they had garnished her wages. She then told me she found a company to loan her the money she needed at a good interest rate and she could afford the payments, but they were asking her to send them $850 first as collateral for a $10,000 loan. I told her not to send any money until I had check out the company first, and to fax me a copy of the contract they wanted her to sign. The first thing I did was call the company. The first time they hung up on me when I started asking questions. So I called back and talked to her loan analyst he assured me they had been around for 10 years and he had worked for them for 4 1/2 years. He then told me to call the BBB they have no complaints against them and they were listed on superpages.com. They are listed on superpages.com but all of their reviews are after April 1 2011. I called the BBB they were not listed as a company in NJ. Ellington then told me it cost extra to be listed as a company with the BBB but they would still show if there was any complaints against them. So I called the NJ office of business affairs they said they had never heard of them but I should try the NJ banking commission. So I called them and Ellington is not licensed to loan money in NJ. I then called my sister back and asked how much info she had given them it turns out that she only gave her name and phone number. They never even pulled her credit or asked about her employer or anything I am glad she called me before she sent them any money. |

I am a Police Officer and currently investigating a case where a victim wired $1600 to these people. The address listed on Ellington's website is bogus. The phone number is a Canadian number. The money is wired to Canada. I also checked with some of the sources as the person above did. People, listen to the poster above, this is a SCAM. |
