I had original fixed payments on my mortgage of $450.00 a month. Within 2 years of the contract NASB raised my house payments to $560.00 a month. A year after that my house not was $650.00 a month! They offered no explanation except that the economy had caused these rates to rise! I started to fall behind on my payments but still managed to make the payments by the end of the month. The next thing I know I am paying for PMI and only 12% of my payments are going towards the principle!!!! On December 13, 2010 I called NASB and spoke with Ally. I let her know that I wanted to improve my credit score and would like to start by making up any late charges on my mortgage payments. I payed over the mortgage amount by $300.00 dollars only to receive a letter that a late charge of $300.00 had been assessed to my mortgage because they didn't receive my payment until the 17th and it was due on the 15th of December! I was outraged! I spoke again with Ally to find out why this charge had been assessed when the letter was clearly postmarked for the 13th of December and the money order was dated for the 13th of December. She stated that it was supposed to be there by the 15th. I am outraged by the service that I have received from NASB. Do not utilize their loans. They may offer you a good deal in the beginning but in the end you will pay severely for utilizing their company!
