Editing Couture Brandie Randolph Took my money and did not complete the service and now refuses to answer my requests for my manuscript to be returned |
26th of Jun, 2011 by User922537 |
Brandie Randolph was sub-contracted to type and edit my manuscript. She was fired from the company that contracted her for inappropriate conduct and had decided to with hold my manuscript because of this. She was given my original to type up last year and was paid over $1000.00 for it. Now she refuses to even return the original, let alone provide the completed work. Her attitude is hateful and vindictive. Just because I am an unknown author, she feels like she can take advantage of me. Before hiring her, I would check around about her, and not just her friends either. Actually look at a book she has edited. I did this too late and now know she is not even a good editor in the first place. The original company that hired her now has to file a lawsuit against her just to get my manuscript back. |

I am Brandie Randolph, to whom this post is referencing. It is obviously written by the urban editing company, 21st Street, as the manuscript in question is from an inmate that does not have internet privileges. This is a sad attempt at trying to ruin my reputation. I would hope that Niccole Simmons will not continue her slander as a court experience would expose the illegal antics of her company. This is now slander. Also, in our contract, editors are not paid until work is completed. This is a sad attempt by an inept individual. Attempting to destroy my reputation will not make hers better. I truly wish you luck and hope that this farce made you feel better.
And I encourage everyone to research me as my work speaks to my professionalism. This speaks of hers. |

I hired Brandie Randolph to edit and typeset my first novel. I am very satisfied with her work. I am a professional woman who runs her own real estate business in one of the top markets in the U.S. and can attest to her professionalism and her exceptional work. Ms. Randolph is not the first editor that I've worked with, so I am very familiar with the practices of editors and what their job entails - I couldn't be happier with her work and her patience with me. She was always available to me when I called or emailed. She never even hinted at an attitude when I wanted to add or delete text while she was in the midst of editing and typesetting. She was and is 100% professional. I will continue to use her services and I will continue to refer her. As with anyone you contract to do work for you, you should always research them and ask for references and samples of their work.
My novel is now published and my ebook sells are doing amazing. I've already generated unsolicited reviews on amazon.com and not one has mentioned anything about editing issues! They are all mostly 5 star reviews with a couple of 4 star reviews. If you take a moment to look through some other book reviews you will see that readers have no qualms about calling out bad editing and I don't blame them. Search This Can't be Life on Amazon and see for yourself. The proof is ALWAYS just a few clicks away. |

I'm sorry Brandie but I did not create this post. You know darn well that Marvin is in federal custody and has internet access because you worked with him for over a year via the internet. My issue with you not providing the manuscript we DID pay you to complete is not a debate for public forum. If you are now providing quality editing to people, that is great. Please don't add my name to these types of forums. You know my email address to contact me.

And you know just as well as I do that he does NOT have internet access. His only access is to CorrLinks, which is why you had to create his Facebook page. He canNOT access anything else via the internet. YOU are the one that keeps addressing our issue in public forums. I do not speak your name, your company name or anything else related to you because it is irrelevant. My information has not changed. I am reached by phone, email, and every social media form. I have been staying in my lane; I do not slander you, nor do I discuss ANYthing about you with anyone else. I'd appreciate you keeping my name from your conversations period.
