This company lies to people. They act as if they are trying to help you settle debt but end up creating more of it. When you first join they will convince you that they can settle debt from it's current balance to a lesser amount. They request you quit making payments to creditors. DO NOT do this if possible. It will have a major effect on your credit score. Secondly they will tell you that they will have your credit scores restored. No. This is false advertisement. What they do is have your credit report updated to show that there was a settlement taken but it will still report for 7 years on your credit report. It will show as a deliquency and a poor score will be the cause of this. Thirdly they will tell you that taking your own settlement is not possible. It is. Don't pay for a service (especially a fee of 25%) when you can do this yourself. Just explain to the collectors you had a financial hardship and they will work with you. Ask for written documentation on all agreements such as settlement offers and account closing letters. By time you enroll with Debt Free After All and pay their fee for a settlement you could have saved more money by doing this yourself. They do not lock balances on accounts. The fees are continued and the further you get behind the higher the balance gets the more money Debt Free makes when they take a settlement. They can not keep you from having wages garnished or accounts going to litigation. They will try but more then likely they will ask for more money to settle debts. People at this office are scared to tell you directly what is going on with your accounts so they screen phone calls and answer through email instead. Good luck getting your statements on time and each month. I have only received 2 since joining last April. I have no idea where my money is going at this point and I have had to call and request statements. I still never get them. I have filed complaints with the BBB and still get no help. They just tell me that BBB does not support this type of business and that there are legitimate companies out there who do a better job. You don't have to be delinquent on all your cards at once to do a settlement. This is just hurting your credit. When I enrolled I had a 749 score now it's less then 500. DO NOT join this company.
