David Hart, owner of Proto tech of Fort Lauderdale, Inc, purchased 2 Porsche 911 front seats for his business from me. This transaction was administered through PayPal . David Hart emailed me, wishing to purchase these seats for his business, but because he owned a business he could acquire shipping at a more attractive rate than the $150 I charged. (Through his personal freight account)
He had mentioned that he was rushing to complete a car for a client, and asked how quickly I could get my seats to Prototech. Once I said ASAP, he purchased the seats through PayPal and assured me that he will acquire shipping
for much cheaper. He soon proved this to me by having an employee, contact me by phone and explain that she had proof
the shipping was paid for by Prototech. This was explained to me that on the invoice it stated Bill to: Prototech of Fort Lauderdale, Inc as well as Prepaid checked off on the invoice. I was told this was through Prototechs freight account, and he uses this personal freight account all the time. Seeing this proof from Prototech of Ft Lauderdale made me confident that he had truly taken care of the shipping charges, I refunded the $150 as requested
UPS came that same week and picked up the seats, never asking for a signature from me. UPS was in and out in 5 minutes. I called Prototech later that week to make sure the package arrived undamaged, and an employee stated that everything was great. Over 1 year later, I am invoiced by UPS for the charges of the shipment (Almost $300). I immediately called UPS and was told originally that it must be a mistake, since it clearly stated:
bill to Prototech of Fortlauderdale. I was put on hold while an employee checked with a manager. I was later told that David Hart have never paid this bill. They told me that they had been billing David Hart at Prototech for a year, and that it was now defaulting to me. I asked them if an arrangement could be made, and they wouldnt agree to anything other than full payment. I was also threatened of my credit being effected do to this bogus charge. They told me to contact David Hart at Prototech, since he would not respond to them. I called David Hart and all he had stated was that he did not make any money from my seats and he doesnt remember the details of the purchase. I explained that it was not fair to leave me with this bill, and he made a comment that, We both lost money on this deal!. Unfortunately I have now had to pay it, since I was being threatened to have my credit impacted because of Prototechs
unfair business practice. So I lost $150 in a refund and almost $300 for shipping it to him. I wonder how many times he has done this before? It seemed very smooth. I would never in my life do business with him again! And he states hes a successful business owner! |

| david hart of prototech ft lauderdale. just check all the court houses in ft lauderdale and you will see over 20 cases where he has been sued for this kind of fraudelent behavior. along with his partner todd knighton of protomotive who also ran from california authoritys to oklahoma to escape prosecution. |

I to had a horrible experience with david hart of prototech, and todd knighton of protomotive these self proclaimed porsche tuners are a complete sham, after being refered to david hart, I went to his operation in ft lauderdale florida I was shocked to say the least, his shop looked like a wrecking yard from the 60s, ferdinand porsche would have turned over in his grave. I had a 997 porsche twin turbo automatic david taked me into his turbos and so called software, he claimed 700 HP on our car. my original plan was to go with the world famous RUFF porsche. but in my opinion I was conned and dupped by david hart.
when the turbos were finshed so david claims my secratery picked them up from his shop and brought them to my porsche technician to install. my porsche technician called me and said these are stock turbos and nothing has been done to them, I said install them anyhow and we will dyno the car, when I received the ECU from david hart. my tech said nothing has been done to the ECU. I said install it.
My tech installed everything and fired up the car. he drove the car and said there was no change it runs like stock, well to my amazement we dynoed the car before and after and it was absoulutly identical runs.
I then intsructed my tech to pull turbos and ECU both were shipped to germany after careful inspection the factory came back with the results stock 997 turbos and stock ECU. $ 10, 000.00 later I was irate david had every story in the book, lie after lie.I then phone my attorney and had him do research david hart of prototech has been sued over 20 times in the last 10 years, for fraud, misreprentation . and breech of contract. speak about wolf in sheeps clothing.I then phoned todd knighton of protomotive and asked him why he would sell a bogus product he said it was davids fault.after careful due dillagence on todd knighton
of protomotive it did not surprise me that he was under investigation by the bureau of automotive repair in california for fraudelant behavior, and also has numerous law suits aganst him.
I would never do buissness again with david hart of prototech, and todd knighton of protomotive. in my opinion they are both wolfs in sheep clothing, and complete thiefs and con artist.I am a consumer that has been ripped off I should have had my porsche done by RUFF and never had this problem.I have learned buyer beware. |
