17th of Jan, 2011 by User355872
I recently went to a cuisine sante international presentation in Ottawa, Ontario where they gave me a live demonstration of how the cooking products work after the presentation was over they were trying to force me to buy their products. I asked myself what the hell did i get into they make other cookware sold in other stores like walmart, bay etc look bad its awful and the prices were totally f**ked up. 300 dollars for a kettle comon anyway I bought there sh**ty kettle when I used it on my stove at home this shi**y thing didn't heat up my water for my morning tea I felt so angry I threw this piece of crap of my balcony into the trash dumpster i just lost 300 bucks. I am so pissed off with these scammers what can i do to get my money back from these liars? Don't get fooled into buying there shi**y products use your common sense people.

My husband and I attended the cooking show in Edmonton, with "Chef Eddy". It was the worst 3 hours, what a waste of a night! It was extremely high pressure sales, and what bothered me the most was the "chef". He used frozen vegetables, frozen chicken and went off about how no water is needed with their cookware. Well of course no water is needed when there are frozen vegatables creating their own steam. If anyone has been to a live cooking show with a real chef, you would know that they would use the highest quality of ingredients, fresh food, and would try to cook locally. He was going off on tangents about nutrition and health, and then he used the shittiest ingredients to prepare the meal. The other ladies who worked there, were all robots. The presentation was so scrippted it was annoying to listen to, way too cheezy for my taste.

The worst part of the night was that we were mislead into attending. We entered in a draw at the Home and Garden show in Edmonton, and when I recieved a phone call from this company, they informed me that I WON the draw, and that we would get a 3 course dinner and a $100 gift certificate. However, the issue is that we did not win. ANYONE can attend the cooking show, anyday. We were not special, and they made it seem that way. I would have appreciated it more if they were honest, and invited us to the cooking show without making it seem that I had won something.

Overall FAIL.

I attend this show in Ottawa and it was awful! to be honest, I didnt find anything interesting in their food bregarding its taste! After that, they tried their best to push us buying their set!
hopefully we didnt buy anything although they were trying to satisfy us with diffrent types of promotios!
This is the question I was asking myself during the show from the beginnig!
If you are the best, why we ever heard of you before! If you are the best in cookware why you are still in this spot after 8 years...
Obviousely, for this reason and many more I didnt buy anythig at the ed cause I had to do my own reserach.
Although I am happy that I didnt fall into their trap, they wasted 3 hours of my time. such a shame...

Don't trust this company! They even provide mis-leading info on groupon! We bought a 29 dollar coupon for a cooking class for couples only and turned out it's a free show for any people!!! We were so excited before we go and it's our date! We even dropped off our baby with nanny ! It wasted our precious time which nothing can be compensated! We were so angry and when we asked them why we have to pay while others are free, they just ignore our questions and keep asking us to buy the products and introduce more friends to come!!! I hope this company can be more responsible on their advertising strategy! It really disappointed us very much and waste our time!! We don't got many chance for dating after we got kids!!! And I hope not many people get into this groupon trap!

hi there.. well i got suckered into this purchase on saturday. While i must say i am happy with the cookware, the price i paid (after doing a little bit of research ) seems ABSOLUTLEY outrageous. Ive just found a set similar to the "Munich" set with the thermometer tops for $350.51 EURO which converts to about $450 canadian and i am PISSED. I relalized sunday morning when i woke up that i made a mistake, i am getting married next year and now im picking up more debt instead of trying to become debt free.. nevermind paying for a wedding. I talked with my fiance and after using the pots we were happy .. but now that ive read here about the handles being switched and seeing the the actual price for these pots i am so angry that i got sucked into this purchase. I think it was a combonation of over stimulation and hormones! So are the switched handles still covered under the warranty?? Also I financed these pots through Desjardine Visa who i called today and my application hasnt gone through yet.. what if it dosent go through? then what? Ive already left with and used the pots? How did the people that asked for refunds go about doing that?

Hey everyone,

I attended a Toronto Cuisine Sante presentation last night. I have been to these types of presentations before (for time shares, etc.) and thought I knew what to expect - high pressure sales techniques, etc. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I went armed with my heavy duty refusal artillery, but never needed to pull it out. I actually had a very enjoyable evening and a decent meal.

Chef Sofia was engaging and charismatic. Our consultant was Jimmy, who I felt was very professional and most pleasant. Their products did have some cool features and interesting tricks. Admittedly, they appeal to the classic infomercial type sales pitches (with plenty of 'wow's), but I found it humorous. Most importantly, I did not feel pressured at any time to buy the products.

At the end of the day, I did not end up purchasing - so I can't speak for the quality or the value. However, insofar as the presentation experience, I would recommend it to friends. This is the first time I left one of these shows recommending it - that should speak volumes.

Please folks, can you tell me if the food is worth the gas to get there (and our time) ... we have ABSOLUTELY no intention of buying ANYTHING - we are well aware of the PTS scam business, have attended MANY of these darn presentations, and yet we still go back to them !

Hi All,

My experience aligns with most of the comments here, but I’ll try to add a few details. Main conclusion after the experience: Complete waste of our time and gaz.

We received an invitation after attending a wedding salon and decided to check it out since they offered a free meal...that we later discovered, came with a 3 presentation (or sales pitch shall I say). Honestly, the meal was pretty bad, so if you are interested by the meal, don't go, you'll be disappointed (Appetizer: coleslaw with carrots, main dish: frozen chicken cooked in canned tomato sauce, served with white rice and tasteless veggies (carrots, corn and potatoes), dessert: pineapple reserved out of a box cake).

The products seemed okay, but the prices were outrageous. Came up to almost 4K with the financing. I almost fell off my chair when the guy told me the rate on the financing... 13%!! Doesn’t worth the debt really...
Even though we didn't end up buying, we still felt that we wasted our time and money (gaz). I wish I had read the reviews before going...
Hope it helps!

Terrible- should be reported to the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT do business with them. The trip has a bunch of hidden fees (it's also a timeshare, and they have NO affiliation with PTS Travel...which they fail to mention). Outrageous "shipping" fees. If you choose to do the financial plan to pay off your overpriced pots (seriously, there are MUCH better induction pots on amazon for a fraction of the cost) they fail to mention that you are also being signed up for a Desjardins credit plan- i.e. Congrats, you now have a loan out in your name. The pots and pans I was being pushed into buying was something like $3300... or a financial plan of $89 per month for 48 months. "but your total is $3300 including everything". Uh, no- THAT TOTAL of $89 per month for 48 months is ACTUALLY closer to $4300. So not only do they falsify about how the payment plan will proceed, they also don't disclose about how much money you will ACTUALLY be spending on their stuff. Seriously, their food is decent, but don't even think about buying anything they are selling- it's all a complete ripoff- one which you'll likely regret as soon as you get home. When my husband and I refused to buy anything, they tried to withhold the $100 gift card, and other chefs came into the sales rep's room in order to try and persuade us more. We decided to leave WITHOUT the promised $100 gift card, because the people working there were absolutely horrid.

I have warned everyone I know to never attend any of their cooking shows, nor to buy any of their products. From what I have heard from other acquaintances, mine is not an abnormal experience from Cuisine Sante.

I recently went to one of the Cuisine Santé International cooking shows out in Orleans (Canotek rd) and it was so sketchy! The show was very informative and the food was ok (which I devoured because they starve you, they dont serve before 8:30 pm at a 7pm show). The first hour and a half was fun and laid back where they show off theyre merchandise as they are cooking. Once your done eating is where sh*t gets serious. They have a sales rep for EVERY couple that is there. I'm not racist but they are all LEBANESE and they bring you upstairs into their sketchy little offices and there the pressure sales start. I mean VERY HIGH Pressure sales.

I have a sales background, so I know pretty much every trick in the book. These guys are good. They dont take NO for an answer and had 5 sleezbags come try to sell us on it when we are adamant we werent buying tonight. I said Ive seen this deal before and can get it again some other time. They said it was a first show special only! YEAH RIGHT! I confronted the chef and told him I dont pressure my clients because I believe in my products, I let them go home and sleep on it. So if their products are so good, why must I buy them right away? He said he couldnt let me leave empty handed so they sent in another guy to talk about the referral program and basically wanted my whole contact list to try and pull theyre greasy, unhonest sales techniques on.

I would not wish this upon my worst enemy. So I grabbed my free bottle of wine and GTFO.

DONT BUY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, wait for the Lagostine set to go on sale at Canadian Tire for 199$ instead of paying 3000 or 4300 if you finance for a SIMILAR set. You can thank me later!

My Story:

While attending the Wine and Food Show in my hometown of Ottawa Ontario, I was approached by the fine people of Cuisine Santé, asking me if I'd like to fill out a ballot to win a collection of cookware. I did... and then things got interesting.

I received a phone call a week later by a gentleman by the name of Justin, informing me I had won free dinner for two at Cuisine Santé, where a talented chef would be cooking live for me and my guest. He made sure I was aware that I was very lucky to have been invited to an "international cooking show" that was very exclusive, and that I need to book now before space filled up.

I was excited... I was so excited. I had won a free dinner at a cooking show! How amazing is that? Right? So right away I called the girl I had attended the wine and food show with and informed her of what I had won and that I wished to take her as my date. She accepted.

Fast forward one week. Date night. I pick up my date, punch Cuisine Santé’s coordinates into my GPS and off we go. Twenty minutes later we are in an industrial park in the ghetto of Ottawa. My date jokingly asks where I'm taking her and what my intentions are. At this point we joke that we may be off to some big scam... #foreshadowing

Upon entering their “restaurant” we were greeted by an older gentleman that informed us that we were not on the guest list and asked us who had invited us. He quickly dismissed our lack of invitation and rushed us to our seats where we were presented with some mayonnaise dosed coleslaw. Yum? The setup seemed exciting to me at first as we were in a TV studio type environment where we all sat in a half circle around a modern kitchen. As I looked down the row of other mesmerized guests I could tell that everyone in there was as confused as we were. Then it hit me… this was not a free meal. I had not won anything. This was a cookware sales presentation and we were about to be at the forefront of a high pressure sales pitch. It wasn’t so much the vacuum / air purifier hybrid sitting on display with marketing collateral all around it that gave it away for me so much as the fact that we were instructed to all harmoniously say “WOWWWWW” every time they informed us we should be impressed by something.

I’ll spare you the details of how they bragged about how cheap the meal they were about to cook for us was, or how they ripped into a woman for boiling her hard-boiled eggs, or even how they dumped frozen chicken into a pot of canned tomato sauce and made a cake out of Betty Crocker. Where things really got interesting was when they got into their product demonstrations. I can deal with them telling me my current pots are terrible, or my food is losing all its nutrition because I’m not cooking it in the right type of pot. Sure, they’re selling a product here. But where things got not only weird but totally unethical is when they introduce what my date and I commonly refer to now as “the vibrator”. Basically just one of those machines you stand on as it vibrates away “burning all your fat off”. This machine was for sale at a cool price of only $2495 and came with a low, low installation / delivery price of $100. As much as they’d love to sell you the vibrator though, this is not why they have it, they have no intention of actually selling this absurd machine. When they get to the vibrator segment of this 1990’s style infomercial, they insist that everyone come up and try it. The reaction is… for lack of better term… EFF’D! People get on it and you can see the fat on their body jiggling away. When they get off it they are so embarrassed that all they are capable of doing is walking back to their seat with their head down in shame, feeling horrible about themselves and their body.

Queue the healthy eating discussion. At this moment, they have people emotionally defeated and feeling terrible about their life choices. This is when the overweight, used car sales people… oh, sorry “chefs” start talking about healthy eating and how the only way to eat properly is with their pots, their rice cooker, their knives… Unbelievable. Simply unbelievable.

Ok, fast forward some more through us eating our crappy, frozen chicken and “properly” cooked hard-boiled egg to videos of hot women jiggling their asses on “the vibrator” and loud salsa music that just confused us beyond belief… yes, fast forward the finale. After learning that their cheapest product is a $300 non-electric kettle, we decide to put on our jackets and leave. Sensing that someone was getting away, the original gentleman that had greeted us at the door came running over, insisting that we come with him to the back room to “activate” our $100 gift card. We directly told him that we would not be buying anything ever from them. EVER. Somehow he translated that into: “please tell us more about the free week stay that comes with our weird pot set”. We proceeded to leave, despite his best effort. As we are walking out the door, he comes running back to us, waiving our “activated” $100 gift card (guess it didn’t have to be activated in the backroom after all).

Anyway, if you are looking for some good laughs with a friend or date, by all means go here. Just DO NOT buy their overpriced junk. If you don’t have a sense of humor and / or you are the type to be easily manipulated and fall for scams… DO NOT GO HERE.
