We were looking for reasonably priced motels and also a way to play a few movies that we had rented earlier in the day. When asking about what the rooms had, my husband specifically asked if the rooms had dvd players and the Indian women, very quickly responded, "yes, yes". We proceeded to go look at the room and decided to take it, at around noon in the day, paid for it, took the keys and left for the rest of the day. We returned at about 7pm that evening, went up to the room and discovered there was no dvd player and so my husband went to ask just in case we were missing something or that they gave them out from the front desk. The front desk lady which was the same lady earlier in the day immediately became defensive when asked about it. At that point, we would have just chalked it up as a misunderstanding, but she accused my husband of LYING and told him to SHUT UP!! At that point, he was too upset to even stay there, so we immediately took the keys downstairs and left and got another hotel for the night. When we came home after the weekend, I called back and tried to reach someone "in charge", but was told by the young man on the phone, whom sounded very bored, that he has heard of complaints of her being rude to other people and she gets things mixed up, so he would see what he could do. I was asking for a refund from the room we never used. Of course, we never heard from him. And when Visa tried disputing the charge for us, someone with an official sounding name, but with no title behind that name, lied and said that we had "used" the room and that his employee did not speak to my husband like that. And that we were being racial by referring to his employee as "Indian". We did not have a name, and that was the word we used to describe who was running the front desk.
