The Brake Team, Tigard and Beaverton Does Not Honor Warranty and Cheated Us Beaverton, Oregon

About 22 months ago we paid The Brake Team in Tigard to fully rebuild my daughter's front brakes. Before the 2 year warranty expired, her brakes on the right side were metal to metal, so she took it to the Murray Blvd. location for warranty work. They confirmed with Tigard that she was under warranty and took her Jeep apart. Once they "had" her, they called to say that when we had the brakes rebuilt (which cost us over $600), we replaced the rotors and brake pads on both sides, but only replaced ONE caliper. And, of course, the one caliper that they say we didn't replace was the cause of the brake failure so it was not covered under warranty and she had to pay $248 to get her Jeep fixed and out of their possession. This is simply not true. Who has brakes fully rebuilt, and says "let's keep one of the old calipers, but replace everything else". It is not logical, and does not make sense. This was a 19 year old girl at the time getting her brakes rebuilt, and she was relying on their knowledge of what needed to be done. To say that she skimped on ONE caliper is just ludicrous. Of course she is young and can't find the paperwork, so they have her on this one. But, lesson learned, we will NEVER go to Brake Team again. My other daughter and I have also both had vehicles worked on there, and both had trouble as well. I guess we are slow learners, but will steer clear of them from now on.
