Im a truck driver On 4-5-2011 while traveling through Knoxville Tn in my commercial OTR Freightliner I started having trouble with my engine. After figuring out that my turbo was going out, I preceeded to call around and find price and availability options. Called Covington Power Services since they were a Big local Detroit Diesel repair facility. and they did have the Turbo I needed available. with limited resources I drove the truck to their property and purchased the 850.00 part. They wanted a core charge and I told them I had the truck with me and I would just go ahead and bring the part in. They said ok fine. They put my truck on a computer and determined that indeed the turbo had failed. Purchased the 850.00 part plus 50.00 for needed parts, from them immediately and proceeded to turning wrenches to get them their core. Upon getting the core to them for turn in, their Service Manager Jerry Coleman came outside and started complaining "after they got their core" that I was trying to fix my truck on their property. Being very demanding that I either let them fix it "at 107 dollars per hour, plus parts". and this just wasnt in my budget. Then he "Jerry Coleman" was demanding that I was going to have to leave his property immediately. How was i supposed to do that????? He was optioning that I leave immediately. or let him do the work. He told me I would have to get a wrecker and have it removed from his property or he was going to start me a service ticket. "BULLY TACTIC" seeing as the truck was crippled and i had little options. This was very unsat treatment, especially since I had just purchased 900 dollars in parts from him!!!, I got the truck immediately to barely running status and drove it off the parking lot where I had to complete my repairs at another location. This is hardly anyway to treat a paying customer! Just trying to make an honest living, and they "Covington" hardly had any business available to them on their lot. "wonder why"!!!??? go figure....this is very poor business and no way to be treated!!! for anyone. |
