Compuvest Selling old junk as new Renton, Washington

Compuvest appeared to have great deals on batteries. They had just the battery I needed for my Lenovo R61 laptop. It was advertised as new in OEM packaging. At half of the price of the retail packaged unit, this seemed like a geat deal. It wasn't. When I received my battery, I immediately noticed the scuff marks on it, as well as some dirt. It did not look new at all. But I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe it just got dirty somehow. Upon installing it in my laptop, my suspicion was immediately confirmed. Lenovo batteries remember when they were manufactured, first used, and how many times they were recharged. I read out the battery information stored on the battery using Lenovo's Power Manager. The battery that was sold to me as "new" was in fact manufactured in 2008. It was way past its usable shelf life. To put insult to injury, it also indicated it had been recharged over 500 times and had been in use since 2008. It had not even 50% of its original new capacity left. They call this "New"? In short, the "new" battery was in fact older than my existing battery and nearly just as dead. This cannot be a mere oversight. It is completely unacceptable. Compuvest knew or should have known that the battery was not new. It did not even look new. The battery they sent me is more appropriate for recycling - not resale. Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else. In my case, I could have probably dug around some dumpster and received an equally "new" product.
