I signed up for this background search service paying about 19.00 as was led to believe I was paying for unrestricted search rights for one year for one particular individual. After paying, I began my search, and that is when, to my surprise, my supposed 'Unlimited' payment was revealed to only be an account balance when immediately 5.00 was deducted from the total of 19.00. I still figured I could get done what I needed to do, except that the results I was expecting were very general in nature and their was a field saying 'show details' that when clicked did not show any details at all. I took me to another page where no real information was shown and where the person I was seaching was the second in line of a possible three, with again a field, 'show detals', was at the end. The page said I would be charged 15.00 for this search and that my balance was 15.00. Again, I figured I could find out the information I was looking for by again clicking 'show details' and be done with it. When I did so, however, what showed up was info for the first person in the list whom I had not clicked on, again with no final information and another 'show details' field at the end. The page said I would have to deposit more funds into my account to perform any more 'direct' searches. I was performing a criminal background search on a shady individual I've had the misfortune to deal with and just wanted to know who I was really dealing with. All I've found out is that this person has been arrested numerous times, but the teaser 'show details' never showed any, and as I said just populated general results for the person with a similar name who I had definitely not chosen. At this point I realized I had been completely robbed! There is no way to contact this company to complain. None! I just spent 19.00 for a service that delivered me nothing! I am sure that in their Terms of Use everything is explained, but this is after the fact. The pages that tell you what they offer are definitely misleading, I would go so far as to say they constitute lying. It is a shame that in this country we have individuals who are so hungry for money and have no honesty about their persons as to perpertrate such a scam in order to make money. I don't know if this report will make any difference, but I tell you I will not forget this. |
