Christian Debt Consolidators did not act in good faith Deerfield Beach, Florida |

When we contacted this company (CDC) we were not informed until after we had given them what we were thought was our first month's payment that they would sell or broker our account to another organization called A New Horizon. Also, at the time we signed up, we were promised our first payment back as a completion reward once we had gone through the program and as long as we were never late with our payments and our creditors were paid in full. It took us 3 years to pay off our debts and during that time CDC received a monthly payment out of our monthly payment to A New Horizon. Why? I don't know, they didn't do anything for us. A New Horizon did all the actual "work" of calling the creditors and negotiating payments for us and they were the ones who paid the creditors monthly. When we paid our debts in full we contacted CDC and we were given many different answers to what was needed to receive our completion reward money back. Beginning in Janauary 2011, many phone calls and emails were made to obtain the reward payment. Many messages and emails went unanswered by this company and when I finally got to speak to a live person, I was often told the person I needed to speak to was not in and many "stories" were given as to why we were not getting called back or why my emails were not answered. Finally, after I had prayed about this situation, I sat down to write out a complaint to the BBB. While I was typing out my complaint, a gentleman called me apologizing for the treatment we received and that we were guaranteed our payment (in full at that time) in a 3 week period as they only send out their checks once a month. Then a week later an "accountant that they brought in to go over the books" called and stated that this company was not doing well financially, was not able to take on new clients and was trying to stay afloat and not go bankrupt due to all the new mandates regarding debt relief programs and that to save this company from bankrupcy, he could only authorize $400.00 to be paid back to us. I asked for a letter stating why we were not being given the full refund and he said they would send it. We did receive a payment of $400.00 in May. However, no letter came explaining their bankrupcy predicament. My purpose here is to warn others who really do want to get their finances back on track. It can happen. My suggestion is to contact A New Horizon directly and do not go thru Christian Debt Consolidators as they don't seem to have it together and they lack quality customer service. |
