The people who told me all the information about the car was a man named Greg (nolastname known) and another man by the name of Mr. Wyatt. I was on craigslist looking for cars and I came across one that looked pretty decent. An 1998 oldsmobile aurora for $1800 with 190k miles. I got a ride over the dealership and asked if the car had any problems, checked out the car, ect, ect. First of all, the man selling the car, Greg. He looked me in the face and says there are no problems. I also asked him what kind of gasonline it took, he looks me in the face and says regular unlead. (A few days later i did some research and it ONLY takes premium) So i test drove the car and looked at it more. I thought it was a nice car for the price, but it had a lot of miles. I ended up getting it with the title and tax included, making it $1800 flat. At the time i was short almost $200 so they let me go with 1600 and id come back the next day to pay the rest. The place told me they were very happy to get local business and wanted to treat the people of their home town of Crystal Lake. As we did all the paperwork, i asked whats gonna happen if there is a problem with the car right after i buy it. They say, we will work something out you can trust us. When I came back the next day it had low coolant when i was by the dealership, so i called them and asked if they had any coolant. At this point i should of tried returned the car. But i was in a hurry to get to college so i refilled my coolant, paid them back, and left. Exactly, a week later. My car was leaking coolant all my driveway (when the car was turned off it would drain out) and the temperature would start to get hotter than the 230 degree range. I left an angry note online while trying to find the problem to this coolant problem. I also called the dealership back about the problem. I guess they came across my post and seemed pretty upset about it, so i deleted it when they said theyd fix the car. WELL I HOPE THEY ARE HAPPY ABOUT THIS POST. Anyway, someone came to look at the car four days after the problem happened (the owner of black forest looked at it), and they told me they would tow it for free and fix the problem at a shop they know. I thought, WONDERFUL THEY FIXED IT. According to them a hose attached to the waterpump was broken, which was replaced. After this the car was driving fine until about a week later something else happened. The back right tire was flat out of nowhere, got it replaced though.
Surely enough, by this point its been exactly a month since i had the car and the coolant leaks out again no matter how much i fill it. Now I am missing more school due to transportation problems. Overall scam problems: Lied about car not having problems.
- Coolant Leaks/ Waterpump problems.
- Back right tire.
Lied about Gasoline type it takes.
Lied about treating its local customers good.
No Spare tire. This was a scam waiting to happen. I had the gut feeling but i tried to be optimistic and wanted a car to drive again. This "dealership" is nothing but a few middle aged scumbags in a little wood cabin they call an office trying to make a quick buck by ripping you off. Take my advice, and please do not invest your hard earned money into this place. You will only be a victim. Thanks for the scam, black forest auto. You really know how to scam LOCAL customers to try and start your small business. Good job, you already ruined your reputation.
