In late November 2006, I dropped out of high school due to depression problems. About a month after I dropped out, I was suggested to getting my high school diploma online. I then searched for high schools that offer diploma's online that werent very expensive. Every time I did a search, Belford High School and Belford University popped up so I decided to read the info on their website. After reading it and being fooled into believing that the diploma's were real and accredited, I decided to get one. I took their online multiple choice test and failed. Amazingly, after I failed the test, all the correct answers showed up and they told me to go over them and re take the test. I did exactly that and passed the test. I was than offered to upgrade my score from a 2.0 to either a 3.5 or a 4.0, but for an additional amount of money. That worried me but I decided to buy the 3.5 GPA and the total came out to a little over $300. I paid using a credit card and recieved my diploma within the week. After I got it, I decided to show one of my dad's friend's who told me that he heard of Belford before and that the diploma I recieved was fake and unaccredited, and that most employers wont accept it. I immediately did some research on the company and long behold, there are tons of complaints against the company both on scam websites, as well the BBB. Wikipedia even says that "On March 13, 2006, Arthur Barnes, a former fire chief, was dismissed from his job for his Belford "degree". After reading nearly 20 complaints, I decided to send them a email telling them I want a full refund immediately because they lied to me by saying the diploma is real. About 3 days later, I recieved a response from them telling me that they will not send a refund. I was extremly upset over this, but I simply couldnt do anything about it. Now, I have a 3.5GPA fake diploma that my little sister can color on and it would have more worthiness to it. I filed this report not to get payback on the company, but to try and prevent other people from getting scammed. I would HIGHLY suggest you stay in high school and get your diploma the traditional way, but if you do drop out, DONT EVEN BOTHER WITH ONLINE SCHOOLS. Get your GED from the state you live in and be proud you got the real thing. *MESSAGE-Belford operates under 2 different names - Belford High School and Belford University. THEY BOTH HAVE FAKE DIPLOMAS. The only difference is that Belford High School sends out fake high school diplomas and Belford University sends out fake college degrees, including an Associate Degree for $349, a Bachelor's Degree for $449, a Master's Degree for $479, and even a
Doctorate Degree for $549.* Private

I am surprised to see that someone would submit such elaborative and dramatic sob story and no one bothered to respond. Most probably because this complaint is fake. The schools and university mentioned in the complaint are still online if they were not legitimate, then how come they are still online and students still getting degrees from these schools? I believe that this thread is fake and the site admins should delete such threads as they are not just harming the schools but also the careers of students who graduated from these schools. |
