I am a former employee of ARS Rescue Rooter in Las Vegas, NV. I applied to ARS Rescue Rooter in response to an ad in the paper seeking a licensed plumber. The ad stated that the pay would be $75,000 plus per year potential I understand this to mean that pay would be a minimum of $75,000 per year. After going through a couple weeks of training in paperwork and procedures, I was given a company work truck and my own jobs to work on. As a technician I was expected to be at the office every morning at 7 am for the morning meeting and training session. This hour long session was daily and no compensation was given. My average weekly hours worked was varied and regularly lasted over 50 hours. My average paycheck for working 50+ hours per week was usually about $400 Gross pay. The ad in the paper was looking to fill a plumber position not a sales position. I am currently looking into taking legal action to sue ARS for false advertising, deceptive hiring practices and unfair and excessive working conditions. After 8 months of being pressured to sell overpriced products to clients that dont really need them, Being constantly pressured to lie to clients and being grossly overworked and severely underpaid, I had to stand up and quit. I risked losing everything and was unemployed for almost 3 months. I'm working for a professional, Commercial plumbing and mechanical company now. I get paid $25 an hour and enjoy my job. Anyone new to the Vegas area looking for a job in the plumbing industry should avoid ARS like it were the plague!!! ARS Rescue Rooter is a nationwide sales based corporation that uses catchy jingles, false hopes and deceptive sales and hiring practices to cut corners and protect its bottom line of making as much money as it can by overpricing and under paying. |
