Shawn Carroll with APS Inc. came into our local Mennonite Community. He called on my store and painted a rosy picture on all the fees and the hundreds of dollars he could save us if we processed with APS AKA : Approval Payment Solutions. NOT ! Bottom Line: We ( my office manager and I ) trusted him. He was very nice but also very hasty to get my signature. Not explaining all the paperwork he signed us up for a lease , later we realized that he did not fill in any of the equipment description in the required section of the lease. We did not realize the ramifications of a lease ,he told us we could leave and return the equipment if we were not happy and we ask him to sign a paper releasing us from any fees to leave. He reluctently wrote a note requesting fees to be waived in the event we left. Yes a request to waive closure fees. This was useless. He told us we could leave in 90 days.
WITHOUT ASKING Shawn helped himself and took all our terminals, pinpads and checkreaders from all 3 stores. We had our own equipment and he could have used it to process and just reprogrammed it. We also had equipment on a free placement program with our processor that would need to be returned.
Now we have a lease and have made numerous phone calls to ask him to return our equipment that he took the day he came and installed the new equipment. His helper Ron came in my store with a box and some but not all the equipment.
To date his "helper" has returned all but one piece of equipment. That's because Shawn knew he should not have taken it and I would have turned him in for stealing equipment. I am working with the lease company at present. Shawn still does not return calls.
Stay away from this guy and Approval Payment Solutions. They should have noticed all the inconsistencies in the paperwork , especially the blank lease. Keep posted for updates. |

I Just found this post while looking up my merchant statement online with APS the company you referred to above. I find this hard to believe. I have used Approval Payment Solutions for many years and have always used Shawn Carroll as my representative and he has always been honest and fair. I even made the mistake of switching to another company thinking I would save money. I found out really fast that he has the best deal around. I switched away from all the other companies I was using for my other businesses and use him and his firm for all my businesses and have recommended him to all my friends and family who own businesses. My local bank even started referring all of their customers to his firm for their credit card services, because of his good record. I have to believe something is wrong on your end, because of the experience I and other I have referred to him have had. I will be contacting Mr. Carroll about what I have read and I'm sure with his financial means and the size of APS that if these statements are not accurate then they will probably take legal actions against you.
