American Law Division
American Law Division
13th of Jan, 2011 by User377385
I received two voice mail messages from "Michelle Williams" at "American Law Division", phone number 760-383-1867. She said that there were "serious allegations" against me and that I should call back in order to avoid "hard and unwanted legal action" against me. She said that there was a social security file under investigation "against" my name.

When I did not return the call immediately, I received another call that I picked up. Having researched the area codeleft with the previous phone messages, I asked if she was calling from Barstow, California. She saidshe was. I then asked her the name of her company, and she repeated that she was with the "American Law Division". I asked her for the name of the CEO of the Company, and she said she did not have that information. When I persisted, she transferred me to the "officer" in charge of my file, "Daniel Cruz". When I asked for the name of the CEO, he said that under "Act 1980" I was not permitted to ask such questions. I asked if that was a state or federal law, and he said it was federal. He also said that law firms do not have CEO's. So I asked for the name of the law firm. He said that he was working with an attorney named "Jason Connors", and asked if I wanted to speak with him. I said I did and was transferred to him.

When "Jason Connors" came on the line, I could tell by his voice and diction that he was not an attorney. But I asked him if he was an attorney, and he said he was. I asked him if he was in Barstow, California, and he said he was in Jacksonville, Florida. He said that he had several branch offices, the main one of which was in Barstow but that he was in Jacksonville. When pressed, he could not tell me what the call was about, only that "Michelle Williams" and/or "Daniel Cruz" should have told me what it was about. He had my social security number, but would not tell me how he got it. I told him that I had reason to believe that the call was a scam. He then got way off the track and started talking about my visiting him in his office for a cup of coffee and some "boozing". I said that had nothing to do with the phone call. He then hung up.

I do not know the particulars of what they claim is the investigation of which I am supposedly the subject. But I am convinced that it was an attempt to extract money from me in illegal ways and for fraudulent purposes. I am also convinced that "Jason Connors" fraudulently represented to me that he was an attorney.
