Buyer beware They will steal your pictures, programs and personal information from your computer. I worked there for a short time as an intern and the things I saw and heard were beyond unethical. a few examples: a tech laptop was damaged by accident or mistake. I was asked to find cheap parts to fix the laptop. I was an intern so I was not paid for the work. Benjamin Thompson then charged the tech he deemed responsible the cost of the parts plus %50 profit. While I interned there I watched as Ben continuously hired employees on a daily basis knowing he did not have the work or money to pay for new employees. When he did get work he would schedule more than one tech to do the job and when they arrived he would tell the rest of the techs that showed up that the job was given to another tech. After a tech had completed a job he would tell them that the job doesnt pay out for 30, 60 , or 90 days later. During that time he would try to send a tech to jobs 100+ miles away and make them pay for their own gas and offer to pay them 50 dollars for the job knowing that it would barely cover fuel. He would put employees hundreds of dollars in debt, talk down to them in appropriate ways. When the employee got fed up and said no to jobs or quit. He would refuse to pay them for work performed. When the employee came back asking for pay he would tell them not to return to the property. His way of leading techs up was to pay them for a small job or two and then send them on a big job or two and then refuse to pay them for it for one reason or another.
This is where he would make his money, by cheating his employees for free labor. He constantly has job ads on craigslist for techs.
One time one of the employee father came and beat him up outside for refusing to pay his daughter. That was hilarious.
When I first started working there as an intern Ben would request to use the computer before we would wipe data or make any backups. I watched him a few times, curious as to what he was doing. He would say he was backing up personal info. In a way thats exactly right. He would go through their pictures and save pictures of children and nudity to his personal flash drive. But not all pictures, He would retrieve the windows oem keys for his personal file to be used later, and if he found programs he liked he would copy those to his personal collection as well.
I guess it is no surprise that he marks up any part he sells by at least 50%
By the time my internship was up the dreaded happened. He offered me to work there. Of course I said no thanks I have a lot of other things going on. However he convinced me to do a small job here and there. I tried to keep track on a min balance of labor so when he stopped paying me I wouldnt be in too deep. He did of course screw me steal my property and refuse to pay me for work performed.
If you ever call Ben he almost never answers the phone. He has his girlfriend lie about him ever being around. He is always dodging bill collector and burnt employees.
Once while I was working there his whole business was aspiring to quit and started making plans to open their own business. That is until the secretary Penny (the one who brought up the whole idea) made her own deal with Ben to keep her job. She later quit anyway after not getting paid again.
I watched the lead technician do most of the big jobs for Ben and he would eventually get paid after having to pawn most of his possessions just to be able to afford fuel. Ben eventually decided to cheat him in the biggest way. Ben heard from the (double agent) Penny that the lead tech was getting fed up with having to beg for a paycheck and one day Ben decided to just let him go in a big way. While the lead tech was out Ben sabotaged the lead techs personal computer and erased his personal hard drive containing over a terabyte of personal data. Ben then told him to get his stuff and get out and refused to pay the lead tech over $4,000 dollars for multiple services that had been performed.
Some of the time Ben does in house computer work himself, esp when he has alienated his current batch of employees.
Ben has no computer knowledge, his only computer training is from a basic skills class at his high school, Myrtle Beach High in 1994.
He works as a security guard at nights at the Grand Strand Regional Hospital in Myrtle Beach.
Basically when you take a computer to Tc computers you are taking a computer to be worked on by a security guard with little computer experience or knowledge.
I mean seriously he rides around on a scooter as his only form of transportation. Im not even sure if he has a drivers license.
Trusting your computer with this guy is like asking a homeless person to fix your computer and bring it back to you when you are done. 843 205 0562
