Always Vigilant Security ALWAYS VIGILANT SECURITY SCHOOL JOB SCAM New York, New York |
1st of Feb, 2011 by |
I was looking for a security job and applied to Always Vigilant Security 2 East 42nd street New York, Ny 10017. I saw their postings on craigslist that reads, "Looking for security workers, hiring now."I called 3477480027 left message. I got call from Mr. Diaz he said they are providing security jobs as front desk positions for corporate buildings.
It was a Saturday 29th January 2011 when I asked how soon are you hiring and he said it will take at least 3 days of training and they will be able to get you working as far as friday.I made sure asked to confirm that after my trainings they are going to hire me and he guaranteed me that I will have a job by Friday depending on how serious I was.He then said it will be about $100 to start, which was the same thing that the website said.
On Monday 31st January 2011, I came for the interview the following morning thinking that they THEY were the ones who was hiring me after THEY give me the classes.Spoke with Ms. Vasquez and she said for my security job I will need a 8 hour, 16 hour, fire gaurd, and a Anti-terrorism certificate to be hired. She then said the total would then be $767 dollars in all.I was shocked because on the phone said $100. Anyway after asking her about guarantying me that I was getting the job, I paid the $767 from my visa debt card desperate just to find a job. She said that she will help me for finding a job and congratulation you are appointed. She assure that she will tell next day how much actual i am going to make money.
01st Feburary 2011 ,On day first of course i met again Ms. Vasquez. she said that she receive call from company that they need a person having metal detection course with all other certificates then they will give $ 27/hour and she pretend that she forget to tell me that there is a job placement for a person having metal detection. I again shocked that she is again asking money for job. Anyway after asking her about guarantying me that I was getting the job, I paid another $300 from my visa debt card desperate just to find a job.
on 2nd feburary 2011 i went and ask to give my money back because it did not seem that there is a job. I met Ivelisse Ferreira School director she said you sign contract but she will help me, they will detect 149 USD from all and return me back all my money.
I saw many persons said that 3 months passed and they got from all certificates, 3 of which they never even needed to get security jobs. (fire gaurd anti-terrorism/hazmat and metal detection)They sent people to security outlets that either wasnt hiring or who had no idea who Always Vigilant was. Also certificates CANT get you security jobs, but having a security license can. A license takes up to 4 weeks to come in the mail before you can actually have a security job. So it was NO way that I could have been hired a day after the classes.
Always Vigilant has NO security job links, they just know places that provides security jobs that I could have found on my own. They also over charged me for my certificates. I could have paid $100 to get my 8 hour and 16 hour in the Bronx. But I spent $1067 for no reason dealing with Always Vigilant. They are quick to take your money, but when you have complaints, they are quick to pass you to somebody else or quick to tell you come back tomorrow.
Bottom line is, they cant hire you, they lied about guaranteed jobs as soon as you get your 3 day training, they over charge for the classes, The certificates I have dont even have Always Vigilant's mailing addresses on them which make them look like fake certificates.AND I still dont have a security job.Dont give your money to Always Vigilant.

Just got off the phone with Ms Lee who told me to come in to see Mr Chase Tuesday at 11am. I was told that my $90 fee is refundable and will be paid back to me on the first day of work. I asked specifically if the money was for the 8 & 16 hour course and she said yes. I did not get the name of the firm but the address id 244 W 49th Suite #700. Unlike the rest of you I will be going to my interview since I work close by anyway and I like to start trouble. Thanks for the heads up. Someones getting punched in the face on Tuesday morning.. |

wow.. i seen the job opening on craigslist & called for the doorman position starting at $30/HR...i Called Earlier this morning and got the interview setup for later this afternoon at the same location at 244 west 49 with mr chase... the lady named ms lee rushed me off the phone so i could ask additional information... i didnt know the directions of how to get there so i typed the adress into google and got this page.. thank you for making me aware of the scam |
|
|
So are there any security positions that are NOT SCAMS and do only ask for the $100??? |
|
|
Thank you for this forum and for posting addresses as phone numbers can change rapidly, I was quoted the $80fee as well they told me it was for credit checks ect but that I wouldn't pay it unless I got placed so that seemed reasonable. It's tricky because you have to then trust you actually got something. Glad I didn't waste my time or money. I can't say FOR SURE that this is a scam but all signs point to yes. Avoid:
244 W 49th St. 7th Floor (btw 8th n Brdwy) |

I just got a call from this#: 212-470-2762, someone from the Alliance Security job training thing?
Well anyway, it was an ad that I responded to on Craigslist, they told me to bring in a resume, my ss#, photo id, and a $ 90.00 fee, something about that bothered me, and so I scheduled to come in next Tuesday @11:00am, so because I'm curious I did some research and found this blog and found one of the comments mentioning the address, 244 W.49th street, 7th fl, rm 700, I'am soooooooo glad I searched and found out that this is a SCAM, I'm so glad that I didn't waste my $90.00, I'm in the process of looking for work, one thing I will say you never pay someone to get you a job.
Overall, I'm just glad that I did my research, always trust your intuitions, if something doesn't feel right..., that's because it isn't right. |
