Always Vigilant Security
Always Vigilant Security ALWAYS VIGILANT SECURITY SCHOOL JOB SCAM New York, New York
1st of Feb, 2011 by
I was looking for a security job and applied to Always Vigilant Security 2 East 42nd street New York, Ny 10017. I saw their postings on craigslist that reads, "Looking for security workers, hiring now."I called 3477480027 left message. I got call from Mr. Diaz he said they are providing security jobs as front desk positions for corporate buildings.

It was a Saturday 29th January 2011 when I asked how soon are you hiring and he said it will take at least 3 days of training and they will be able to get you working as far as friday.I made sure asked to confirm that after my trainings they are going to hire me and he guaranteed me that I will have a job by Friday depending on how serious I was.He then said it will be about $100 to start, which was the same thing that the website said.

On Monday 31st January 2011, I came for the interview the following morning thinking that they THEY were the ones who was hiring me after THEY give me the classes.Spoke with Ms. Vasquez and she said for my security job I will need a 8 hour, 16 hour, fire gaurd, and a Anti-terrorism certificate to be hired. She then said the total would then be $767 dollars in all.I was shocked because on the phone said $100. Anyway after asking her about guarantying me that I was getting the job, I paid the $767 from my visa debt card desperate just to find a job. She said that she will help me for finding a job and congratulation you are appointed. She assure that she will tell next day how much actual i am going to make money.

01st Feburary 2011 ,On day first of course i met again Ms. Vasquez. she said that she receive call from company that they need a person having metal detection course with all other certificates then they will give $ 27/hour and she pretend that she forget to tell me that there is a job placement for a person having metal detection. I again shocked that she is again asking money for job. Anyway after asking her about guarantying me that I was getting the job, I paid another $300 from my visa debt card desperate just to find a job.

on 2nd feburary 2011 i went and ask to give my money back because it did not seem that there is a job. I met Ivelisse Ferreira School director she said you sign contract but she will help me, they will detect 149 USD from all and return me back all my money.

I saw many persons said that 3 months passed and they got from all certificates, 3 of which they never even needed to get security jobs. (fire gaurd anti-terrorism/hazmat and metal detection)They sent people to security outlets that either wasnt hiring or who had no idea who Always Vigilant was. Also certificates CANT get you security jobs, but having a security license can. A license takes up to 4 weeks to come in the mail before you can actually have a security job. So it was NO way that I could have been hired a day after the classes.

Always Vigilant has NO security job links, they just know places that provides security jobs that I could have found on my own. They also over charged me for my certificates. I could have paid $100 to get my 8 hour and 16 hour in the Bronx. But I spent $1067 for no reason dealing with Always Vigilant. They are quick to take your money, but when you have complaints, they are quick to pass you to somebody else or quick to tell you come back tomorrow.

Bottom line is, they cant hire you, they lied about guaranteed jobs as soon as you get your 3 day training, they over charge for the classes, The certificates I have dont even have Always Vigilant's mailing addresses on them which make them look like fake certificates.AND I still dont have a security job.Dont give your money to Always Vigilant.

Wow These Guys Almost Caught Me

I'm sorry, forgive my language but I just had an interview with these people, particularly this Mr. Columbo guy - what a @$%^! They were rude and obnoxious - I had the $100 with me but I wasn't about to give it to them until I knew everything there was to know. As soon as I said I didn't have the money, this @$%^ shoved some folded papers at me and said 'When YOU'RE ready (aka when you have the cash in hand) fill this out and come back." And he yelled to his assistant what a waste of time it was. Really?! Wow.

They didn't even tell me what was up over the phone - just kind of rushed through everything. That was the first caution sign.

I'm sorry you guys lost all that money...I feel for you. It's so unfortunate that all those pathetic scumbags are out there advertising that they have jobs and then taking your money and trying to sell you stuff that isn't worth a dime. They're taking advantage of the very people who are looking for jobs because they don't have money to piss away.

PS - Just some advice - Don't EVER give your social security number until you have a signed contract that you are hired, and they ask you to file a W-4, especially when they take cash as payment. Most of the time a company pays you for training, not the other way around.

A lil of what is happening with me. I had my interview and everything went great i paid the $100 then Mr. Colombo comes in and tell me that my remaining balance do is $343 i started asking question and he said that covers everything. Two days later i went in for the most boring class ever Pre-fireguard and got my certificate. Two days later went in for the 16hrs class. The instructor was pretty cool and funny and if u listen to him u actually learned something about the job. Last class was the Pre 8hour. With all this done i thought i was ready but i was wrong i got the application for the Security License and noticed i had to pay $105 for finger prints and $36 for the license. I got an interview with Ms. Nancy worse lady ever in that place she said we were wasting our time if we didnt have a license which shocked me once again. I just went and paid and send my application now it takes a month to get it. Super unhappy with everything they said within a week i would have a job and they so wrong. Be careful with this place.

PS- One last thing the fireguard is really not needed cuz with my research done almost nobody is asking for it

I'd like to thank the website forum and the ppl who took the time to voice their opinion on this security scam company. The comments here solidifies everything I was weary about w/ this "security firm" which is named "Security Associates", & Mr. Columbo. I didn't want to go through all the red tape (scam procedures) w/ this firm which is located E. 42nd Street & 5th Ave (right next to Bank of Amer). The man said to bring $100 to certify myself as a security guard. For some reason I knew that they were going to ask for more eventually. Good thing I have a cousin who works for a security firm & his boss (the 22 yr GM) never heard of "Security Associates". To conclude this comment, I will not attend to my 10AM meeting (thanks to Anita1), & everyone else who gave input in this forum. I'm sorry you all had to go through the scam. Best of luck to all in your future endeavors.

ALLIANZ SECURITY PROTE ON 244 w 49th st suite 700 NY IS ALSO A SCAM. THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED AN ANTI TERRORISM COURSE BECAUSE OF 9/11 INCIDENT. I Later AGREED TO PAY THE 80$ NON REFUNDABLE FEE AND SAID ID COME ON MONDAY FOR THE CLASS BUT THEN I HAD TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL 260$ SO THAT IT WOULD COVER "EVERYTHING" (?) I LATER LEARNED THAT ANTI TERRORISM CERTIFICATE DOESNT EXIST, SO FUCK THESE SCAMMERS!

Oh my god @Erinanne29 @Mystasmo0th I applied to Allianz secirity myself on snagajob.com, they were hiring for doorman and lobby attendants in Manhattan and surrounding areas. So I applied and the next day at exacttly 11:00 i recieved a message (shucks i deleted the number and message later cause i was so pissed) saying he recieved my application and to call him back as soon as possible. I am a 19 y old college student so of course I was excited. Now i get in contact with him and it started to look shady. First he said that they were hiring only for front desk security (which is different from what they posted online). So he then said I would have to pay an 80$ deposit fee so that I can get trained. He then asked if I can come tommorow. I said yeah but i can't pay the fee tommorrow. He told me exactly 'call me when you have the money' Also he said if I am not selected I will get my money back. The entire time he was vague, and when I asked him exactly where would I work if Im hired he says 'in Manhattan' then hung up. Wtf? But call me young and foolish I was still going to go through with it. But, what was the last straw for me is that I see that @Mstasmo0th the address was for 244 w 49th st suite. My address was the same! I am most deffinately not going out there tommorrow.

Wow. Well Thank God for this forum. I got a phone call today from 212 977 2600. I didn't know the company name but they said the same thing that was said to all of you, but the payment is 90$. I'm scheduled to go in tomorrow. They didn't even tell me the company but that the position was as a front desk personnel. It's located at 244 w 49 street. Suite 700 and they also told me to ask for mr. Chase. I definitely thought this was real, but I found as I was asking the lady questions, she almost rushing me off the phone. Smh. Beware people and once again I'm grateful for this or else I woulda wasted my money.

I certainly just got ripped off today for $100 dollars!! I am highly upset!! I met with Mr Freeman and I had a bad feeling about it from the get-go. He sat there and told me I am pretty and he likes my smile throughout my interview, I found that to be very unprofessional but I kept going. He wanted me to start training a few hours after my interview and told me that he's putting me on the priority list. I was confused when he told me everything came up to $639 when on the phone I was only told to bring $100 in case I get hired. I had the $100 and paid him and something did not feel right when told me I had to pay the $639 at the moment. I did not have that in my account as I am a college student looking for a summer job which I stated in my interview. I told him I'd have to talk to my parents to get the money and something did not feel right when he asked me to use his computer to make the money transfer from my parent's card to my card in order order to pay right at the moment. So I got nervous. I told him I'd pay prefer to start training tomorrow and he said to make sure to bring the rest of the money before my training starts. I am very upset I payed $100 to these aholes as broke as I already a. But thank God I had some common sense about the rest of it. I definitely will not be going to that stupid training tomorrow and I want my $100 back!!!
